Heres a picture of my new (to me) 06 Nirvana Black Standard 5. This is one of the pics the guy I got it from had. I'll try get some new pics of it now that I got it all cleaned up :) Definitely the nicest bass I've had yet. Now if only my house wasn't so electronically noisy...

Also I already have a piece of wenge on order to make a ramp in between the pups. I'll definitely try and get some pics when I get that finished up.

BTW, I have been trying to search these threads for opinions and experiences on gig bags, soft cases or alternatives to the heavy Warwick Rockcase (which is serious overkill for my purposes) but not finding what I need. I have never used a gig bag. What is your preference, are they really that protective? What other alternatives for a Streamer NT? Thanks.

You said the Rockcase is serious overkill, but how do you use it?

I just got my first warwick (corvette standard 5) and my first ever gig bag. I recently played a weekend at a church retreat. I had my warwick in the hardcase and my backup p bass in the gig bag for the trip in the trailer and then swapped them at the weekend. I felt fine just carrying it around from building to building in the rockbag, but I would have been a little skeptical transporting it in the trailer in just the gig bag.

I never cared for gig bags in general. But when I got my Warwick, I've been using it and sorta liking it!..

Lots of extra pouches and when over my shoulder, I have an extra hand for equipment.

One small gig I went to, bass, GK MB200(in Gig Bag with cables), 151 Traveller Markbass cab....one trip from car!

So Cool.

In all honesty there is absolutely no comparison what-so-ever. The Streamer is my dream bass in every aspect. It beats anything I've ever played. In regards to tone, I refer to them as "night" and "day" for a reason ;)

Exactly my situation. I did find that the Streamer fits quite nicely in the SKB Jazz Bass case that I already own. How convenient. No need to pad the body up to get the neck in the right height. There's a little sliding around room but not as much as one might think and I'll address that with some custom fit padding at some point. No worse really than the Rockcase Flight Case which gives you some small faux-fur covered 'pillows' to take up the space. Not digging that all too much. It's an SKB-44 with 4 TSA approved latches. Well built, light weight & thin. I'll post some pics sometime to show the fit.

Awesome good to know because I'm having a hard time buying the right 2nd bass bc my stage ii it's just killer and my dream bass too

Honestly, the Thumb isn't even my number 2. It's my number 3/4 depending on where we are and how I'm feeling.

My number 2 is an '05 Fender Marcus Miller IV which is apparently different than the newer models. Fender's website says something about the new ones having a satin finish neck and a preamp that is boost/cut. My Marcus has an all gloss neck with a boost only preamp. I love the sound of Ash bodies and single coil pick ups.
I have a '78 Fender Jazz all ash as well.

The Thumb is pretty much my couch bass. It's a shame really because it is an exceptional bass, I just can't stand maple.
