I got a new bass and I have had it four years already. *** do I mean? Well I finally got around to reading the user manual for my streamer fretless. I was pretty amazed that the bridge is adjustable in 3 directions which took care of the tight string spacing that was tripping me up. I set them more evenly spaced as wide as possible to accomodate my large hands. I also twisted the truss rod up a bit, got the action set where I want it and I swear this bass is growling like a warwick should now! I was not totally satisfied with the dry, woody tone until now. When this thing is in its sweet spot, the tone is so punchy, deep and textured it's like a whole new instrument compared to where I've had it set at until now. I also want to credit half rounds by d'addario for being the closest string to perfect I have yet found.
I went through countless fenders and other basses. Mostly fenders. I'm still gonna keep on searching for the one but throughout my search I realized I just love the time of warwicks. I miss my thumb Bo. Love my streamer and got a thumb nt coming next week but man I miss my first thumb Bo

Yeah I know how you feel I just let the corvette on the left go but I just can't get into the 5 string
If you feel that way about the instrument you are selling, then it is not the "one" for you obviously. You will know if you ever have a bass that is an extension of you because you wouldn't sell it for all the money in the world.

So I got a used Thumb Bolt On today. I've been after a Thumb bass for years and it's everything and more than I could have expected

When I got my Corvette, I swore I'd never sell it for the world... I've looked after it and played it etc. The Mrs even thinks I love it more than her! (Of course she's wrong...)
But I love it so much that I won't gig with it in case something happens to it. So no matter how much I love it, there's really no point in keeping a bass that's not used for its rightful purpose.
Man, my 'vette thrives in a live situation. If I ever had to fight my way out of a cage of hungry lions, I'd take her into battle!
You obviously love the bass, just gig with it, it will be ok. Mines got battle scars, it adds even more character to it.

I mean I mainly play dive bars with more than the odd lowlife in. One of these days it's bound to go "wandering" or have some lovely wino fall on it...

I have two other basses, a 4 and a 5, both nice players, but much cheaper, and I gig them both.
The state that my bank account is in at the moment, my choice is to either sell this one or the other two, so I'm trying to take the more sensible (albeit slightly more painful) option!

1/29/11 Mt. Pleasant MI, rocking the Warwick fretless(stereo), and the rig sounded spectacular that night!
