WoW!!! Stunning Infinity!!
I always liked those basses....hard to find ...great score...congrats!

Hi, I'm new to Talkbass, but not new to bass playing! I'm a Warwick girl at heart. Got my first Warwick bass ten years ago, and recently bought this beauty:

It's a Warwick Infinity NT Birdseye Maple Top 4 string. Looking forward to joining in the chat with you all, off to pm Daywalker for a number...

YES!! Just wrapped up negotiations to buy this MINT 1996 Fortress Flashback 2tek 4 string!
Always liked these ....Just a cool old school looking bass ....passive...not the highest output in the world...but a sweet warwick tone....great for recording I would think?
plus I think it is the only Warwicks I have seen sporting a pickguard? hahaha!! :)

Should be arriving from it's 3,000 mile journey next week sometime.

Here she is:

fantastic looking bass! well done. the bridge on that thing looks to be a thing of beauty.

that is a beaut!
i had the "gull" inlays on my five string corvette think they stand out a little better on this thumb.[/QUOTE]

Thanks...I love this bass!
my other basses are so much larger and heavier than this thumb.
It is always nice to play this ....so light...and it just has the most amazing tone with the PU config.....Warwick really went to town on this 2006 limited edition Dirty Blonde!
I am still hoping to one day find a good price for a mint 2003 Bleached Blonde Thumb LE....

Thanks for the note.
I saw one of these for sale awhile ago on ebay. It was the first and only time I saw one before this one that I bought.
I just really like the old school retro vibe it has. And it looks to be truly mint!
I think the sound should be interesting to play around with and fit into my music.
It is like the other end of the world from the tone ....say my MM Bongo puts out with the 18V pre amp....hahaha!! :)

I see you said "Had".....I am guessing you sold yours?

I had the same fortress with the 2-Tek but in blue and it was a very different Warwick bass from all of the others that I've owned. 'Different' but excellent in its own way, I'm sure you'll enjoy. ;)

Sold mine a long time ago, maybe 8-10 years ago!

I heard from several people that there were only 50 made with the 2tek bridge in 1996!!
so being they made them in trans red...trans blue and natural finish....I am guessing there were very few in each color! Making this a very rare bass.

I am buying this one from one of the owners of the 2tek company!!

Not sure of the actual numbers made but they weren't a Ltd Ed, the year sounds about right and I've not seen any other colours but the cost of the 2-Tek bridge (inc factory instillation costs in relation to all of the other Warwick basses with standard bridges), meant that it wasn't a long lived product... but I'd bet there are a lot more than 50 out there. ;)
