I never played a 5'er before, except for 5 minutes at the local GCenter.
It was some crappy China one too...and I sucked at it. :rollno:
( well for the 5 minutes I messed with it at least ) hahaha!

One day I must grab one and give it a fair chance.

That is truly a work of art ....congrats on 3 pretty SERIOUS Wicks!:cool:

The neck profiles vary by the year. I believe the fat necks were only produced through the late 90s and throughout the 2000s. The thinner neck profile now comes standard on new warwicks.

Right on, I appreciate the info. The instruments that I owned were all from 2001 to 2008, do you happen to know if they've gotten any thinner since then? I love the tone and clarity, and I might just force myself to suck it up one of these days :bassist:

I am not too savvy on Warwick history, but I have a 1999 Streamer LX that has a very thin jazz like neck made of ovangkol. Probably the best most comfortable neck I have ever played. Question for you guys. Does anyone now what type of Bartolini pickups and preamp are in the 2010 Redwood LX?

Impressions:

WOW!!! This is a 1992 Dolphin Pro I. It features a Boire Body with Wenge neck and boards. The bass weighs just under 9 Lbs, and is a dream to play. It has a 1 9/16" nut, and 19mm Spacing on the strings. I LOVE Warwicks, but most of mine have been 1 1/2" necks, and 17mm spacings. I LOVE a P-Bass! So this Ups the Ante a bit. It plays effortlessly! I gave it a Thourough Cleaning. (Chris LOVED this Bass!) I re-strung it with TI Jazz Flats. WOW! It had a Bit of Bite on the higher registries. The Flats take that edge off, but keep that nice Thump on the Deeper notes. I've played the bass about 2.5 hours. It just Feels Right! (BTW, My Lovely Wife bought me this Bass for my B-Day. (Plus she's got Big B**B's!))

The Body is So Cool! When you are wearing it, it becomes part of you. No Fumbling for knobs , or wondering where the Sweet Spot is. Amazing...

Pewter / Satin Hardware is fairly uncommon, if not Rare. The "JazzMan" pickup configuration is Perfect! Stacked controls are Vol/Balance, Treble/Bass. If you want Passive, pull the Volume Knob. If you want a Jazz Sound, Pull the Treble Knob.

i think i just jizz in my pants, i need to camp ebay for one of this early 90s dolphin to my stable... right now i am camping for a 80s thumb nt....

Not so.
I own an Mint in a wrapper 2006 wick dirty blonde.
The small black plate embedded in the back of the headstock says:

"LTD EDITION 2006"
"06/063"

So maybe his is #311?
Would have to assume mine is #63.

I THINK I recalled hearing there were 325 or 350 of these made?
Not sure? But I bet The guys at the Warwick forum would know for sure.
