I came home with this NOS bass yesterday. It's my first Warwick and what a great first experience! The first gig with it last night killed. It's a Limited Edition 2010 Warwick Streamer LX 5 #39/40. The top is redwood with crazy birds-eye on an ash body, ovangkol neck with an ebony fingerboard. Best of all for me, and why I was looking for another 5 string, it's super light at just 8.4 lbs.
Just thought I'd share my new infatuation with this brand.

Look how thick the top is! A full 1"

What a find! I've played one very similar to that, it just SMOKED!! Congrats!!

I need a number:hyper:

So I have been wanting a Streamer for a very long time. The Bass Place recently got three of these Custom Shop Streamers.

As soon as I saw them I was drooling. The price was considerably less than that of a standard streamer due to a killer promo price.

Here are the details

2010 Custom Shop Streamer LX SE #22 of 40 USA only

Natural oil finish

Bartolini active 2 way

Burl Vavona top a.k.a. Redwood

Swamp ash back.

Tigers eye ebony fingerboard

Weight 7.8 lbs. The lightest bass I have ever owned.

This bass is easily the best sounding bass in my stable. Though there is no mid control, the midrange is perfect. The tone is classic warwick thump with a very hefty authoritive growl.

I didn't bother to ask, but being that this is a 2010 model. Where have these basses been the last two years. Waiting for release? On tour with NAMM?

Anyway, I'm a very happy boy.

That was the case with the shop I got mine from. They got them from Warwick as NOS. This shop actually has #1/40 tucked away in back.

I got #40 of #40. There were only 2 lefty 5 strings built in existence from this batch of redwood tops. Most unique and beautiful top I have seen. If you upgrade the 2-band stock preamp to a Bartolini 918 3-Band Preamp, it will shine. The MIDs kill in this bass.

The ones at TheBassPlace are going down in price. They were $2695 just a few weeks ago. Almost bought one. Glad I didn't since they're now marked down to $1995.

I'm aware of another store selling one for $2995.

Only because they got the remaining stock. I believe they got the last of em. As they sell the prices will go back up on the last two. They still have one four banger left.
