Thanks mate.She sounds great.I loved my Thumb but I really needed to get back to playing 4 strings.I just struggled for so long on the 5.I've fallen in love with the bass all over again.Sounds corny,but I cant put this bass down.I stay up at night to play,I get up early in the morning to play.![]()
Hey, guys; probably a stupid question, but never thought this out before now;
I have a pair of FNA jazzman's, and they have an active/passive pull knob. If I pull it to "passive", does this keep the battery from draining and keep me from having to unplug the bass all the time? Just curious...

Then that is TOO cool! I'm so tired of "popping" soundmen when I unplug, even if I turn my amp off because of the direct box! Thanks!you got it![]()
Some MEC pre-amps (and non-MEC ones) have a pasive switch that isn't passive at all, it just ignores the EQ knobs.
Usually it's imposible to get an active/passive switch that truly bypasses the battery, without getting a huge thump when you switch it either on or off.
So there's a very very strong chance that your preamp will still drain the battery even in passive mode. You can confirm this by removing the battery and playing the bass in passive mode. Can you still hear the bass? Probably not. And if you can't, you know that the battery is needed even in passive mode.

So lately I've had some seemingly uncurable GAS for a SS1 5 string thanks to Mr. Stuart Zender. I'm considering selling my sadowsky to get one (shhhhh don't let them hear that over in the Sadowsky thread).
I'm looking at a few used ones. Anything to look for here? I shop through pretty reputable dealers so I doubt I'm going to get screwed over... but I'm open to advice/suggestions.
That tone is just hypnotizing! I must have it!
i got GITS = gear in transit syndrome. will post pics of my new Warwick Taranis 5, ;p due date this fri ;pp

it just came ;p today going to give it a spin at tomorrow band practive, just finish set-up, lower the action a bit, relief the neck, string it with black beauties and strap lock ;p
Don't forget that Travelling Without Moving was recorded on a Stage II, though. Very different tone.
HOT HOT HOT!
Please post some more pics, and soundclips if you can.
The entire album or just the song titled that? If it's the album I may have to reconsider. I love his tone on Virtual Insanity soooo much.
