Yeah, definitely worth it, but play it first. Nice bass != Good sounding bass. The Lynx is a special edition. It's displayed in the custom shop gallery, and from what I see, it's very very nice.

As for a $$ / Bubinga comparaison, it's like apples and oranges. Different sounds. The bubinga is a quality bass, but completely different. It's more mid-rangey, and a lot heavier :)

is that the one?

The Lynx :

After the lion comes the lynx. Our partner Backline Music in Barcelona has just ordered a Custom Shop Special Edition in limited quantities for the second time. The first small series got the name “The Lion”, the second one now is named “The Lynx“, which is – as known by everybody – the Greek name of an elegant big cat, which was almost exterminated but naturalized again in the meantime in some German forests.

Also these basses will be almost as rare as their namesake, since they have been produced at a limited amount of 30 units (fifteen 4- and fifteen 5-string models.) The optics of the basses of this small series is attractive as well: a top of Spalted Maple of the category C is glued-on to a Swamp Ash body, which is treated with a Natural Oil finish. The A/B/C categorization for the Spalted Maple corresponds to the A-category of the Flamed or Quilted Maple. Thus, the Spalted Maple, which has been used for the basses of this series, has an interesting grain with partial normal wood-coloured side-faces. An Ovangkol neck with a Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard is bolt-on to this body, a nacre inlay with the engraving “The Lynx” can be found at the 24th fret.

The electronics of this small series is based on the popular passive MEC MM-humbuckers and the MEC 2-band tone-control, the hardware is black. Additionally, also a Warwick Piezo-bridge was put in here, which additionally is extending the already wide sound spectrum of the $$-electronics. The Piezo pickup can be controlled by means of a stacked pot in terms of volume and tone.

The serial number of the instruments of this series are:

4-string: 5-string:
01/15 – B-133113-07 01/15 – A-133093-07

Thanks a lot! :hyper:

I didn´t know warwick.de so I couldn´t find any info at warwickbass.com

When I saw those pictures in the web... man, I didn´t remember it looked soooo good.

It was the 4 string version, by the way... mmm. It makes me doubt because I wanted a 5er... I played guitar for 6 years, and I wanted to get back that high B string so that I can use all the chord shapes and arpegios... :bassist: I tried a 5 string $$ in the shop, but with and added low B. Is anyone playing with a high B? Could I change the strings or the bass is not meant for that?

Ok.. I´ll post picks once I have one of those german beauties.

You kept saying "high B," most string manufacturers have sets that come with a high C string. you could use that kind of set with it and just tune the C string to B. I have done this (with the C) to two of my basses and to numerous others for people. I havent really ever ran into a problem with the nut slots being too big for the string

Sorry I haven't been able to respond to all of the member requests. My PC at work crashed, and the copy of member list I have here at home hasn't been updated in MONTHS. So I'll go through all my PMs, update the listing I have here, and get everyone up to speed. And to all current members, PLEASE be sure to have your numbers in your sigs so I can update my list properly. THanks a lot, and keep is low...:bassist:

Here it is my Warwick FNA jazzman 5, after spending a good while deciding if i truley really liked it ive decided, I LOVE IT. All it took was a one concert with this baby and i new everything would be all right HAHA:bassist: .

Gotta love us ska kids with our checkboard everything. i usually place pearloid Jack Daniels picks in between my tone controls to A) look bad ass B)provide enough to keep me from turnin my pots accidentally (i put them on right after my sis took the pic at our last show).

cool cool, i was beginning to think that you guys didn't want me.. :(

I just recently purchased a 1997 Streamer Pro M5, in red. previously i was playing an Ibanez SR905, WOW what a difference! i don't use any effects, just straight into a Mesa Walkabout 15"combo. my wife loves the Warwick sound nearly as much as i do. it's beautiful :)

i can't figure out how to post a picture though

I've got to finish recording my bass tracks for my band's newest album this Sunday. Has anyone recorded with a Thumb NT or a Corvette $$ in the past? I've been using a Nordstrand SC4 and a MM SR4 for much of the project, but I think it's time for the 'Wick growl. Anyone give me some examples of recordings of these basses?

I love this thread. All this Warwick porn makes me giddier than a helium-voiced anime schoolgirl. I'll share some action shots with my 'wick.
