We've hit the century mark! Now, to get 200! Everyone be sure and PM me for membership once you post up your pics. Thanks a lot...

I will, right after you tell me what number your Dirty Blond is. ;)

Chastise me heartily - I put LaBella tapewounds on the Fender fretless yesterday and fell in love with the feel; thinking about putting a set on the Thumb - bad idea that I'll regret, or good idea worth a shot?

I cant remember the last time I had roundwounds on my thumb BO 5...for a couple years I used rotosound nylon wrapped flats and now i've got a nice old set of d'addario chromes on it...i toy with the idea of going back to rounds, but i doubt i will...it just feels and sounds right with flats

if you wanna hear clips of it w/ the chromes, check out Link Removed most of the sounds on the songs used multiple channels of distortion on top of the clean, but, the track called "a modern hymn" has clean bass in the verses (thumb bo 5 w/ d'addario chromes mic'ed thru an swr black beauty)

p.s. - id join the club but i have no way of getting a pic on my computer right now...someday

You're making my day. :) That's exactly the set I have waiting to go on - Roto nylon wraps, .065 -.115. I love the way the nylon wraps feel and if the sound is there, there's an added bonus of them looking way cool on that bass. :)

BTW, checked out the band site - solid writing and whoever did the mixing\engineering has a great ear. Please pass the warm fuzzies along to whomever should get them.

thanks very much! I wish the band wasn't recently dissolved...its tough being in a band when u all live at lest 250 miles apart...respect will be given where respect is due

...those were recorded w/ the daddarios...i have a cd of another project i did using the rotosounds...if i can find it, ill try and upload a couple clips

It's a relief just to find out I'm not crazy. :) My first experience ever with tapewounds was just a few days ago (Monday, now that I think of it...) when I put a set on a new (to me) Am Dlx Jazz Fretless. I was amazed at how good they felt. So, I thought the 'Wick might be a good candidate for them.

In searching for a corvette standard 2 band pre-amp , it seems DB Goods is charging about 250.00 bucks for that pre...and thats not the list price, that's the "out the door" price!? Anyone know where I can find a used one? The one that is 2 band / active as comes in the corvette standard model?
