that thing is beautiful..i'm such a sucker for Thumbs and Streamer I's and II's

to answer a previous question..i have found through experience that the best slap from a warwick comes from the SSII with the Thumb being a close runner up (wenge necks)

however i have never played a katana or infinity...i have played almost every limited edition and i sitll find the SSII to have the best slap tone

Ahhh...It finally is mine. Today, the UPS guy dropped this off to me. It's a 2002 Thumb BO Broadneck 5-er. This is the first 5-string that I've played that has a string spacing that is similar to a 4-string. Being that I have always been a 4-string player, this, my first 5-string, is actually much easier to play than all the other 5-strings I've played at stores. I was able to just pick it up and play it as comfortably as a 4-string. I suggest this bass to anyone who is really use to their wider 4-string spacing and wants to move to a 5-string. Then again, I'd suggest any Warwick to any bass player. :)

cool. this just might get me into going 5er. and sweet thumb, by the way :bassist:

Just got my SSII back from the shop earlier and it now has barts with the aguilar obp-3 pre-amp. Sounds AWESOME! I will try and post some clips soon. Maybe if someone has done the SD Basslines p'up and pre-amp replacement they could post some clips as well (if they haven't already and I missed it) Here are some lo-fi pics from my camera in the meantime.:bassist:

i'm so confused! what is that?! is it a bass or an upright? whats that big metal stick hanging off the body? why do the strings spray our so much near the bridge? its beautiful dont get me wrong! but what is it?!?!

The Metalstick hanging off the body is where you attach the strap. The metal thingy is slided into position and holds firmly to the body by a screw as seen on in this picture Link Removed . The strap must have Schallar gear to lock the strap to the metal arm.

Hope this helps.
Best regards

Hey there, Warwick masters!

I have a couple of questions, since I am about to buy a wick. I can get a corvette passive 4 with bubinga body for 1000e, or a double buck for 880 euros. Is the passive vette a better bass since it is more expensive? I´ve tried both in the shop and the double buck sounds amazing, but.... any buts?

Ok, then, in this shop they have a double buck limited edition for 1200 euros. It´s got an amazing wood body and top class active electronics (or so I think). Behind the head it says 4/15, so there are really only 15 of these!! Do you think it´s worth it? Oh, by the way, its called THE LYNX.

Ok, thanks guys. And don´t bother telling me to get a streamer, I can´t spend more than a 1000.
