I'm looking for some informed advice about what my minty 4-string 2005 Pedulla mpv with original case is worth. There doesn't seem to be many for sale our there, especially 4 string. People must be holding on to them since Mike retired. I'm thinking about selling since I"m going mostly passive these days, though I may regret it. I've listed the specs below. This has had very little playtime by the original owner or me (2nd owner.) Unlike many damaged finishes I've seen, this one is immaculate.

Here are the specs:

BODY WINGS: AA Flame Maple

COLOR: Amber Sunburst

NECK: Capillary (neck-through), 3 piece maple laminate

SCALE LENGTH: 34 inches

FINGERBOARD: Ebony

NUMBER OF FRETS: 24/24 inlaid white markers

INLAY: Mother of Pearl, 5mm dots

NUT: Bone

TRUSS ROD: Single rod, double-acting adjustable with two stiffening bars

HARDWARE COLOR: Chrome

BRIDGE: Hipshot 3-way adjustable machined brass (there is slight patina from natural aging)

MACHINE HEADS: M.V. Pedulla/Gotoh

STRAP PINS: Gotoh

PICKUPS: PJ made for M.V. Pedulla by Bartolini

Just FYI your bass isn’t “mint”. Excellent condition, sure. You can’t say mint, then mention tarnish. The two are mutually exclusive.

Mint means absolutely zero flaws of any kind. Like when the bass comes from the factory before you take it out of the box and play it the very first time, that was mint. Its harder to be mint than to be NOS.

Three-knob MVP/Buzz vs. Four-knob with mid-boost.
I thought the 3knob configuration was early, from the 80s into 90s. Or was it an option?

There is a very nice 97 (if I'm reading the serial number right) for sale in the classifieds.
For Sale - 1998 Pedulla Pentabuzz /Mudvayne fans

I have a 97 MVP with the 4 knob config. Per the serial number it was the last bass made in 97. Both basses are "Signature", which I believe distinguished the wood (later called AAA flame) amd possibly the hardware.

So did the configuration change in 97 or are there later years that still have 3 knobs?

Just throwing this out there.... is there anyone with a pentabuzz or a MVP5 with Black hardware which they really wish was Silver/Chrome? I have a pentabuzz that I love, picked up used, but it has the silver hardware which all works perfectly....but I'm maybe I'm just too demanding....(-Prince). Anyhow...maybe you feel my pain and need the Silver Bling! Let's swap! :)

I have a set of not so nice finish gold tuners and bridge. Those are great bridges. I wish they were still made! I put black hardware on my PentaBuzz when Michael refinished my fingerboard and changed colors on it.

Pedulla resales do seem a bit lower than what I expected. I've owned 4 or 5 pedullas....and everyone one was an awesome bass. I bought this one straight from Michael Pedulla and it was one of the last basses he ever built....2017 5A exhibition grade Buzz Bass in cherry sunburst. Nicest wood i ever saw from his shop. Dunno if I would ever part with it....but if I do, I hope it commands more than 2000/2200. lol...

It’s still the same from when Michael refinished my PentaBuzz quite a few years ago. Haven’t had to touch it one bit. It’s....

........JUST RIGHT!
