I have a mid-90s Rapture J2 5 with Barts that I have never liked. I think there is something wrong with them because it is half as quiet as any bass I have ever owned.
I want to replace the pickups, but the odd decision to use 4 string sized pickups in a 5 string bass has caused me problems. What pickup options are there for this bass?
The neck is 91mm (3.60") and the bridge is 95mm (3.73").

You didn't have a problem with the dual coil and your A string? The diagrams make it look like the split is on the string and would create a dead zone.

Here's my 97 Thunderbolt, which I may have posted here but cant remember. I know I accidentally posted it in another thread.

Concerning resale, I don't understand why it is what it is. Mine has one of the best playing and feeling necks. It's very fast. I bet if you blind folded someone who wasn't interested and they played several basses, think they would love a Pedulla.

I see old Fedoras and the prices for them take my breath away. I've never played one so I don't know what I'm missing.

It could be the strings or maybe you have it too scooped. Ken Smith stainless and Rotosound 66 sound great on my Thunderbolt 5. I stopped using KS strings due to fret wear. No nasal for me.

Ah found this one: Black Aluminum (Sadowsky(R) Style)

Pedullist, did you get the knobs?
I ordered 2. They are as advertised, the finish is identical, though I noticed the white stripe is a bit wider than the originals. That wouldn't show if you replaced all 4 and they will darken a bit with age. And nobody but a fussy owner is likely to notice.

Speaking of knobs – I mentioned this in post #3747, but for anyone with gold hardware who wishes the knobs were also gold and not black, the company linked in that post sells gold knobs similar to black knobs, with a flat top and ribbed side. Not a perfect match, but obviously closer than black! Honestly, someone has to be consciously looking to tell. I liked them enough on my Thunderbuzz to order a set for my Thunderbass as well. Pictures of the Buzz at the other post, but here’s a recent pic of the Thunderbass.

I put in Nordstrand Zen Blade 6 pickups in my '94 Thunderbuzz 6 - right now they are passive with both pickups having a volume and a series/parallel switch, and the switch that used to be for thunderguts (which i really didn't like) now flips between 2 capacitors. I wired it up this way to see how i liked the pickups, if series/parallel is worth it, and if there is much diff between capacitors. I might add a active pre at some point.

I really like the way pickups sound wired in series, in parallel they are pretty thin sounding. It is good to use for emulating a upright (the natural neck def helps), but am not sure its worth it.

the 2 caps i have in there now are a .047 and .033 sprague from BBG - i do hear a diff but its pretty subtle. Not sure this is worth it either.

The pickups sound great tho! big thx to Cesar from BBG and @Stewmc5222 from Nordstrand for helping me figure out what i want. I still might put in a active preamp - i wish i could still buy the ACG filter pres - but anyone have any recommendations?
