I don't think I've ever shared any pictures of my 1980 Buzz Bass serial #0258.
I special ordered it new after falling in love with one at the 1980 NAMM show. They still had the older body style at NAMM. I luckily ended up with one of the first classic shaped Buzzes.
I ordered without the line -markers. Mike started using Bartolinis by the time I ordered, but I loved the sound I heard with the Dimarzzios at NAMM.
It came with a Calzone Road Case. WARNING: The foam of that case eventually impreganted the finish of the bass. On the back half of the body sides and behind the neck.
I eventually removed the "cheater" wood pickup surrounds.
AND Yes.
That is Roland GR Synth-Bass electronics crammed in there! (Had that done in the late 80s - long story)
It was pretty fun. I remember using it to simulate pedal steel guitar in a country trio of all things!
I bet no one else in history of music can make that claim!
That multi pin jack ALMOST fit. . . .

let me clarify. It appears I don’t need the 4 sided tool, so anyone know what I do need to fit this?

The Grover 8020 Autoharp tuning wrench they call it a tuning hammer) fits the stock Pedulla truss rod nut. $10 at Amazon.
after a bunch of hunting on here I found I need a 5/16” truss rod wrench, , not the autoharp tool. I have one of those. This is an earlier model that has an actual nut on it.
I just adjusted my ‘89 MVP truss with a 5/16 thin wall socket… worked great!
Went from corroded EBMM Cobalt flats to Pro Steel 43-107s. I also filed on the nut slots a smidge to get a better break angle toward the headstock face, and to deepen them some. Plays and sounds so dang awesome!

But the bass… I doubt it got played more than an hour, if that. It’s a literal time capsule from 1986! Action is perfect, truss nut turns, barely any marks on the fretboard. I’d be surprised if there’s another buzz bass out there in this good an original condition. No dents, dings, scratches, pitting or rash. Nothing!

What's the string height on your 'Buzz?
Just curious to hear what others do. I've been experimenting with the height on my Pentabuzz (I use rounds) and surprised how much difference it makes. And it doesn't take much. I seem to favor it at about 7/64 at the 22nd fret but I've had it higher and lower.

If addressing me, I have no idea. I’m actually reluctant to use it. It’s so “new” it’s crazy. I might just keep looking at it.
I used my PentaBuzz for so long, for so many years, I had to have Michael refinish my Fingerboard years ago and ended up having him change the color to Midnight Arctic and all hardware to black!
Haha, Jedi Bass...noticed your system to keep track of what's on your bass. I actually keep an Excel sheet because I have more than one bass, and also more than guitar. And I experiment a lot of different types of strings and sometimes you just forget. 
So with each string change I put it in my sheet, with a date.
