I just bought this in the classifieds cuz i couldn't resist the deal, but i am realizing i'm just not comfortable on a 4-banger. thought i'd share my auction (if for no other reason than to see the pictures )

That is a hard to refuse instrument, but the only four string I'm comfortable on is a double bass. All of my electrics are fives.

Have any of you ever heard of anyone converting a Rapture JJ to a PJ? I know you would have to order a new pickguard and drill holes for the P pickup, but I was unsure if the cutaway under the pickguard was sized differently. Any insight?

Hey p0k! I saw that T-bolt on eBay and jumped too late. But then, I think I'm mainly a Rapture guy.

Thanks. It's an honor and this Rapture gives me some nice Jazzy tones I needed.

I am not selling it or trading it ever. This one, my Thumb NT, Thumb BO, Streamer Stage 2 and Stingray are keepers for sure.
I am a Warwick freak but this bass is changing my worldview LOL

Count me in, My Mark Egan 5 string will be delivered tomorrow or monday. It was defretted by the Guitar Factory and ended up at Bass Central. I'm 45 minutes south of the Pedulla shop so I'll drop it off myself to get the board coated.

My Penta is used but in GREAT shape, FB is nice and shiny. But, I can feel the white fretlines if I run my finger down my FB. Is that normal? Or does my board have substantial wear, and has just been polished back to a nice shine maybe?

Either way, I'm loving it just the way it is!

Thanks! I guess you can say it's a Mark Egan to Pentabuzz conversion. It was defretted by the Guitar Factory, and I'm having Pedulla coat the board. Anyone know if there's a difference in the electronics between the original models?

From what I gathered, Mark Egan basses are bassically Fretless MVP's so it has the same electronics as a Pentabuzz. I take it whoever ordered this bass, ordered a MVP 5 string with a Egan thumb rest. I could be wrong.

Edit: the ad for my bass says it has a TBT preamp, which is the preamp in the Rapture, Thunderbass and Thunderbolt basses. The Buzz and MVP are supposed to have the NTMB preamps. I guess I have a hybrid

I believe if it has the Mid switch it is the NTMB preamp. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong?
