Hoping to avoid Ebay; I really like Talkbass better, but I just may have to go back to the dark side on this one.

Just bought this one last week. Very nice color. Being new to Pedulla gear this is a different animal to me. Learning my way around the neck and practicing intonation I find this bass has some nice features, the ramp is a nice touch, and some I'll need to get used to. In particular, it sounds very mid rangey, a little niosy like that of a single coil buzz (which may be due in part to my basement), with a small but managable bit of neck dive. This has an NBMT preamp, never played with that particular pre before. Listening to Jeff Schmidt and the sound he gets I wonder how he tweaked his or what amplification he runs even though he plays piccolo strings, that blatant 'mwah' he gets is very interesting to hear.
I also found I get the most 'mwah' when plucking the strings over the 23rd and 24th fret as opposed to over the pups or back at the bridge. Called Mike Pedulla for info on where the factory trim pots are supposed to be set and he returnd my call in a couple hours. I didnt ask if these pick-ups are humbuckers. So, if anyone here can tell me if they are humbuckers that would be helpful. All in all it's trial and error as far as getting the sound I want on a particular song and learning the technique of playing fretless (finger vibrato) and all that to really enjoy this one.
Still trying to determine what strings are on it to, thay have different color nylon wrap on the tuning end and none on the ball end. Either way I can hear the tonal possibilities and think I will enjoy learning to play this bass.
I wouldn't mind a number either being I'm in good company.

Nice bass! All I know is Bartolini makes all of Pedulla's pickups custom, different amount of wraps than factory pickups, so it's hard to be precise about what they actually do to Pedulla's Barts.
I also have a Pentabuzz (as well as an MVP Custom 4) and I find the neck dive on the Pentabuzz a bit annoying. Do all Pentabuzzes have neck dive or is it just certain years?
Very nice color is right, and I love that finger ramp. Nice grab! What is the string spacing?

Mine has zero neck dive and it's overall weight is great!
Hey guys, I'm finally getting a pedulla again! Now I don't have to be ashamed of my #1 without owning one currently
It's a Transblue 2006 Rapture J5. I'll post some pics when I get it. WOOHOO!

Yeah, post pics right away so I can see if I want to buy it when you decide to sell (not that I think you should be thinking of selling it ... but it's happened before, so I want to be ready!)Hey guys, I'm finally getting a pedulla again!
