I've had to do violence on that, sorry!

I've had this bass for a while now and I just love the sound and the playability, the great feeling neck and so on.
But I just could not stand the color.
The finish is great but I'm a hard rock bass player and I can't stand looking like a wimpy jazz player (joke)!

So...I took a brush a bucket of black paint...and did it!

I took it apart:

on another note, my Rapture just got here today...looks and plays awesome as expected. and to answer your question Tom, the pickups look to be about 3.75" apart...so a little wider than 60's spacing.

I don't think I've ever been so sad looking at a refinish. To each their own but a little part of me cries every time I see a pretty top/headstock hidden away, never to be seen again
