When I lived in California, I loved the Jack in the Box commercials and hated the Carl's Jr commercials. I didn't eat fast food so I developed a fantasy means of rewarding the commercial I liked and punishing the one I hated:
Go through the drive through at Carl's Jr and rob them. Then go through the drive through at Jack in the Box and just hand them the money.

How interesting. And I can relate. CJ commercials are negative to me where as JITB are positive.

Go figure.

That's the magic of marketing. I try to keep the fast food to once a month, & IME CJs always kicks the crap out of JITB. But yea, that Jack is a charmer.

A very handy number is 2 raised to the 10 power, which is 1024.. its very close to 1000.

So 2 to the 20th power is a million and 2 to the 40th power is a million times a million or a trillion.

So if you fold something 40 times, its a trillion times as thick. .

Walking continuously at a pace of 20 minutes per mile, one could travel one light year (about 5.9 trillion miles) in 225 million years. Meaning that at the same pace, one could reach the nearest star to ours (Proxima Centauri) at a distance of 4.3 light years, in about 967 million years.
You've never heard of Uber?

I've developed a man-crush on @fcleff ever since he posted pictures of his home made crėpes in another thread, and started a culinary 'ask questions' thread :) Which I have not yet ... I'm too busy between the bands and eating crėpes during my weeks drool

The most common form of childhood leukemia, ALL, may be due to lack of exposure in the first year of life to microbes, leading to innappropriate immunoresponse later. See the Beeb for more details.

I work in a privately owned FBO for two weeks straight at a time, without going home. I work twelve-hour days, sometimes seeing as few as 70 passengers in a day. Things get boring here.

Lately, I have been experiencing this inexplicable, overwhelming desire to pull every fire alarm I come across. Obviously, it would cost me my job and isn't worth it, but...

...it's so tempting.........

There was an FBO in East Texas that we would always land at because the restaurant had such good pie. I buddied on night flights hauling checks Houston to Dallas to build PIC hours. Beautiful, but boooring.

People who go on extended antibiotics can have the population of good bacteria eliminated from their gut and bad bacteria (clostridium difficile) can come back and take over after the antibiotics leading to chronic diarrhea, weight loss and serious colitis. It can be a serious problem with older patients. The current treatment has been more antibiotics, but a better therapy using donor bugs produced better outcomes.

The IMT (Microbiome transfer, or fecal microbiota transplantation), is a procedure in which fecal matter is collected from a tested donor, mixed with a saline or other solution, strained, and placed in a patient, by colonoscopy, endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, or enema, to cure the underline disease..
