Pretty much. You fill out a customs form at the post and it goes through customs and then is delivered through the postal office in your country. It should be around $150 for a 30 pound package within the package size requirements. Worse case scenario: you remove the neck and send the body and neck separately.

At least in the US, Postal insurance stops at the border... which makes me kinda shy of cross border postal interactions involving valuable goods.

Here's a question for you: I've just done some recording and the producer/engineer said he was having trouble getting a sound that sat well in the mix. I was using my 5L strung with DR HiBeams, a Mark Bass LMII amp into a Mark Bass Traveller 2x10, (miked up, no D.I.) He said the sound was either too prominent or got lost. (Before you ask, he does know what he's doing, having worked for a whole raft of "A" list artists). He went on to say that when we get to work on the album, maybe I could try different basses! I'm convinced it's not the 5L, (or even the amp), maybe the cab or strings, but whatever, I'm determined it's NOT my 5L that's at fault, as it sounds great live!!!
I had the pup's running in series (switch down) so maybe parallel might have been better?
Any thoughts anyone?

BBJ; sure try the other toggle positions.
I like DA EXL 170 nickels, warm yet present.
Funny, the 5L is one of two basses my engineer will allow direct into the console.
The other is my 51 P5.

Try parallel 1st and also try going direct. It's prolly not the 5L. Reverends usually sound awesome in the studio. That's one of the reasons why I got one.

Thanks for the advice...next time I record with him, I'll definitely try different modes and get him to DI too...I'm sure I'll find a combination that'll do the trick...If not, I'll tell him Chef & Rezdog are on their way over to have a quiet word...

I've got some slightly heavier DR Sunbeams on the way too - 125>45 (the Hi-Beams are 120>40...) I may try the EXL 170's at some point, but the strings need to be flexible, cos I used an ebow loads...check out Link Removed - all 3 tracks are the 5L...what do you think???

This auction surprised me though . . . has anyone ever heard of Reverend making a JJ pickup for a four-stringer??? I've never heard of such a thing.

This is about what I was going to say. I use D'Addario strings, and never have a problem sitting well in a mix. Try single mode with the tone rolled back just a tad, maybe. That's a good sound!

That's about what I thought. I'd doubt that it's really a Reverend pickup.
