Ha! I used to have a Bongo 5HH that I bought brand new from the GC on the east side of Portland for $800. Sold it six months later for a profit. It was even orange . . . :p

You know this is Eric's fault ... him and that damned Drozd...

oh man - in Orange - I'd be on that like Orange on a kumquat... I love that color in a bass. and standing next to Brian and his Orange Gretsch... well our side of the stage just glows.

Just for the record. I'm serious about this. I'm paid up for the GFS. I'm not going there for a bit though. Any witty comments. like about the color, or my sanity are welcome but anything else oughtta be a PM. I wanted to let you guys know first but I don't want to hijack the thread any more than I have already.

So you want a Bongo like this one?

:p

LOL. Actually, it was a really cool color. Looked reddish in some lights, and more yellowish in others. I enjoyed the Bongo. It was a fun bass.

sigh... yes. I want to join the dark side... I mean I can't afford a Drozd - I figure the Bongo may be the next closest thing to Eric's Ritter and JD. I just did the Pro Insurance thing ... There's 30K in gear in that little gear room  and I can't find anything else that's even remotely disposable! At least nothing that will pay for a decent 5 string ...

Hey - a bunch of Crackertones dates in Portland comin up. The Green Room, White Eagle, Duff's, Dante's, Dublin Pub and ... I'm forgettin' something - I'm hearing something about the Doug Fir but I understand I might not be able to get in as I'm over 50... I make have to get a fake ID!;)

honestly man, he doesn't look a day over 49, and a half... I'd better be doin' the Jenny Craig routine ;~) maybe I should shave .. maybe not. Side burns ? Jeeze, it's so confusing ...

BTW - Charlie's response ... "you're hopeless, man..." good to have friends ....

Ya know the contstruction guys yell - Hey babe - nice pair to the hotties... the gal's in the neighborhood are beginin' to yell nice pear tooo...

I don't know anything about club membership, am I allowed to post here? Forgive me if I do/say anything stupid.

I'd like to show you my Brad Houser 5, serial #03879, Sky Blue.

One of the last ones built. I know that because after I ordered it Joe Naylor announced discontinuation.

This one has a sad story and I'm the only one to blame. I bought it when I was going through a 5-string frenzy but within a few months I realized that 5-string was not my cup of cake. I sold all my 5-strings but I couldn't set my heart to selling this because the damn thing has a beatiful tone, it's nothing like I've ever heard. It unfortunately stays in its case most of the time; you cannot know how I regret not purchasing a 4-string at the time.

Anyway, how do I become a member?

Basadam; welcome!
if you *really* want a four sting, you're in the right place. I'm sure any number fo these mooks here would be happy to trade you.

Sky-blue rawks!:

:crying: BH5 in turkey? I would do just about anything to be able to get my hands on that. The blue on that rocks. Congrats on her she is gorgeous.

Shipping internationally isn't so bad. It typically runs ~$100 or so.
In a trade with each party shipping their bass, that would be a wash, right?

The last time I shipped a bass (via UPS Worldwide Exp) from US to Turkey it was $225 or so. A cargo service should be cheaper, from Japan to Turkey is $120-$150. I never shipped out though.

It seems any hopes of trade is ruined. A fellow club member checked with UPS only to find out worldwide exp shipping would be $420 :crying: I take it that bass/guitar companies have special pricing for them.
