Exactly. I've been playing in DGCF tuning almost exclusively for six years, and the only difference is a huge one.. two extra low notes! I've gotten so used to having that open low D (the fretted low E is pretty cool, too) that when I play a standard-tuned bass, it sounds and feels a little weird. There's a distinct feeling of hitting a wall when I reach that open low E and realize "that's it."Assuming you're still tuning in 4ths, and playing in closed positions, nothing changes except where your starting point on the neck is.
OK - so How far would I have to bend over for a Houser, along with a 4 banger 'fish - y'all know the one ... (I'm like you know infatuated but only interested in North American, preferrably US deals...)
"Hi Watspan. I'm the Bugeye Fish you've always wanted. I'm still here on ebay because it's our destiny to be together. Buy me! Buuuuuuuy Meeeee!"
Thus, the siren song of the Bugeye Fish, for Watspan.
Bart's could have the look of badly tagged brick and I wouldn't care - It freakin' plays like - god - don't say it -must not type it ... aaiiiieee (sound of sherpa being thrown to the gods...) butta ....
