[/QUOTE]greetings from the North,

Have any of you ever played a 5L with a pick and what were the results? Oh ya, can you say whether you had round wounds or flats. Thanx in advance.

Have I fallen off the wagon? Did a gig sat. w/ bluetrain and I didn't even take a fish along! :hiding:

I must confess my DPLE II w/ DS has become #1 for tone and playability. Probably no great mystery as I did pay $1K more for it than my first 'fish! 'fish are a close #2 though. Sat. I just had to give my new MIJ Precision thinline w/ black tapewounds a go at a show.

FYI, this bass is in the classified forum.

Shoot, that's all the thief did, was rotate my pic.
I'm pretty sure that's the same floor;)

(just joshin' if the seller, or some potential buyer is watching this)

I think that PW and I, wife Lisa in tow are headed on Saturday. You're heded then as well ?

I'll drag the PJ along - it is now sportin' Super Alloys and truthfully - it sounds way better with rounds.

It is gettin' cold sin these parts so there may not be many other opportunities for that compar'o ...

I'm coming, but I have no idea which bass I'm bringing. I think I'm going to stick with the stock Rev pickups in my PJ in any event so feel free to bring whatever bass you want. I really dig the stock pups, so if it ain't broke . . .

I have no idea which bass I'm bringing. More pressure to choose with so many fellow gearhounds in the crowd.

I had some black screws left over from another project and put them in the pickguard on my BH5. I thought I'd ask my fellow 'fishermen what they think.

Before (with the silver PG screws):

After (black screws -- I was one screw short of being able to replace them all):

I like the way the black screws draw your attention away from the PG and to the finish. Opinions?

Dissenting opinion: I prefer the chrome...
Caveat, I am part crow; I like shiny/sparkly things.

That makes me want to go look at my Houser bridge; I seem to recollect mine being different than yours...

Much as it pains me to do so, I may be getting rid of my Lava Swirl 5L. I played it today and whatever is wrong with my left arm is aggravated by playing a fiver. It was a really light gig, but my index finger on my left hand went numb in no time.

Ideally I would love to trade for a Lava 4 string, but I don't think anyone here has one. I have two necks, the original and the modified BH neck, both would go with it. Haven't decided on a price, around $1100 I guess. PM me with any offers
