I just got home from a weekend out of town to play with my new Rumblefish 5L I just bought from Kevinlane. I had to take off that metal thing on the body. Other than that, it's great.

It's been a long time since I've owned a 'traditional' bass.. and while this BH5 looks anything but, I think I'm really going to enjoy it for it fenderesque qualities... oh and HUGE tone from what I'm told.
As I said earlier, I've been playing 6's for 10 years and it's time for me to get back to the basics. I'm playing more casually these days and need a solid bass that feels good on the shoulder... one that can cover some good tonal-ground and NOT break the bank in the process!
Should it the bill in think.. eh?

with the BH5, there are two ergonomic challenges.
-it's a wiiiiide neck. very comfortable, but undeniably wide. keep your elbow in, and your thumb below centerline, and you won't have any problems. it's a great feeling axe, but, it is what it is. with your 6 string backround, this may be a non-issue. the edeges are nicely rolled, and the fretwork is usually impeccable.
- the strap button on the upper horn isn't at the "traditional 12th position." more like 14...this pushes the 35" scale neck a little further away from you. you may feel like first position is a bit of a stretch, compared to other things.
the tone is huuuge, organic bliss.

Chef, I did notice the same thing about the strap button from the pics.. scale length aside, is is that much different than say a Deluxe Jazz 5? Cuz if hangs anything close to a fender... it's all good!
And about the wide neck on the BH... as long as it has a nice enough profile to keep my thumb happy, I'll be crawlin' all over that thing!

Well; I find them to be "pretty bright and edgy for flats"
The set on my 5L is at least a year old, and I don't know how old the set on my L2000 is, but they're still plenty bright if you don't turn down tone some...

sounded very very cool. for the first show I put a modified orange squeezer in between to add more dirt, for the second show I just plugged my cable in and go. great amp, but way to heavy so i will prefer my acoustic220 or gk400-rbII amps more.
to be honest - iam sure that everybody who carry this around for a couple of shows upstairs/downstairs will fall in love with something small like a gallien krueger instantly
