"Wood Reverend?" One of my favorite things about fish are the hollow bodies.

I don't think I have any interest in a "wood" Reverend; but, I'm open minded.

Said it a million times now: "Where's my gold top'd Club King hollowbody with P90 clone pickups?"

Been using the Lava BH5 for a new country band I'm playing with. Big, rock solid organic tone.
I may have to tape a Fender Bass Shape (tm) over the body though....

Picked up my BH5 yesterday. :bassist: I can't wait to play this bass with my band... it sounds friggin radical through my Tecamp combo, which coincidentally... loves passive basses!! A little 'left field' in first position.. but very comfortable to play overall. Pretty sweet!! I'll report back after I getter out on the gig. :cool:

Whatever else one can say about it, there's no denying that the BH does have a unique tone. It didn't really work for my classic rock gig, but for the right genres it's KILLER.

I can see where it would work PERFECTLY in a country gig, other than that hippy-trippy swirly thing it's got going on.

Quick Blues Bros. reference:
"What kind of music do you have here?"
"We have both kinds -- Country and Western!" :p

I'm interested in seeing the new Reverend basses, but I suspect I'll be disappointed. The world doesn't really need any more low end solidbody basses IMO. I guess what worries me is that they will go the same route as Steinberger did when they stopped making their basses out of graphite -- i.e. make a bass that has the same cool look, but sounds just like any other bass because it's not made using the materials that gave the original its distinct sound. I love my old graphite Steinberger, but the new ones are just crap even though they look very simlar at first glance. I'd hate to see Reverend go the same route.

Sure. As I recall, he didn't swear us to secrecy. :D

He seemed to think that some variation of the Jetstream might make its way to the bass side, and then he dropped innuendos about the Club King...

I coughed and nodded in the direction of the Pete Anderson signature model, but the response from Ken was unreadable. :eyebrow: ;) :D

Color me interested in a new Rev semi. I'd love to see them score another home run, this time with a full-blown semi (oxymoron?).

Doubtful they could GAS me with a solid body, but I'm keeping an open mind. Who knows, maybe just the right kitsch factor will trigger the OCD. (oh God no)
