eBay. Joe sold it the first time and I got outbid, then a few months later it came up for sale again. A kid local to me had won it, then couldn't get the funds up to complete the project and decided to sell it. I used a sniper program to grab it. I paid a bit more than I was comfortable with, but I've just been sitting on it until I have the funds to do it right.

I'm hoping to be able to pull it off with no pickguard, show off more of that lava

Nice score!I like the no pickguard idea, you could also go clear if need be...it's almost impossible to find a 'Fish neck...

Pile on! The 5L is about to get a set of Chromes, and I'll probably get a tort guard made for it. The 4-string mostly sits in its case, but I bust it out now and then to jam on around the house. Still the best neck ever.

The XL switching is cool, but the problem with the blue bass is it's missing a string. :D
I remember reading a quote from Muzz Skillings in BP where he said that once he got used to the 5-string, playing a 4 was like taking a finger off. That's about how it feels to me. I'll probably never go back, but that blue bass isn't going anywhere. Of course, I say that until the new Reverends come out next year, and I need money to get one..

upon this forum when I first joined Talkbass.
I have a problem with wanting to buy every Reverend I see.:rollno:
As I type I'm scrambling to create a for sale pile to fund Matrok's friends Blood Red 5L!! Wishful Thinking. :smug:

I just got this news at The Reverend Forum;

They're having a "Reverend Day" this Saturday, over their new digs, the "Circle R". There's an open invite to Reverend forumites to "check out what we do here, look at some new guitars, see some new models & prototypes, etc, etc...."

As I mentioned yesterday, I'll being talking to Ken, (the initiator of this info & invite) tomorrow about the new short scale. It would seem they're about to unveil 'er on Saturday!

If the test was: Which BH5 induces the most GAS? I involuntarily belched at the shot of the gold one.

Anybody know if you can get white/cream pickup covers for a 5L? Mine is a BEM with gold pickguard. I thought the pickup covers would look sharp as cream/white to go along with the body binding vs. the black I have now. Or, are they integral?

Unfortunately, the DUB KING will make it's debut at NAMM, in January. Apparently, the first 2 short scales will come in a tobacco burst & transparent orange. The set neck, rosewood fretboarded bass, sports both a humbucker & single coil pickup...
