Hey guys.. I'm gonna get a set of Chromes for my 5L. Because it's 35" scale, do I need the super long scale: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
..or will the regular set do?

EDIT: I think I just answered my own question.. found on another strings website that "super long scale" means 36" or more.. but I'd still appreciate any feedback you guys have.

You need the super longs. If I answered too late, the only problem will be with the "B" string. It tapers a 1/4 inch too soon at the nut. I put a piece of toothpick under the string on mine, and its held up for several months now with no problems.

So, anybody looking for a 5L? My buddy finally sent me some pics. Blood red, white pups, gold guard. He says the neck has a different tint than is usual, but it's not noted on the spreadsheet.

He's not a TB member so I'm just putting a feeler here and on the Rev board for him.

IMHO the Reverend 5L neck is one of the "real easy to play" 35" scale basses out there. The profile is slim and comfortable. I have small hands and have no problem at all getting around the 5L neck. YMMV etc. Just sayin :)

The 5L is a great neck!
However, the unusually placed upper horn puts the strap button at about position 14 or so, making first position a longer reach than on about anything else.
