the protece is not as nice as the sadowsky portabag.
the zippers are a little lighter grade.
the materials are not as sturdy.
it has two handles that velcro together, vs the one on the portabag.

i've had some that came with "neck rests,'' and some without, but not that had a retention strap for the neck

Hey dudes.. just wanted to post up on my Rev BH5....

I've been playing it exclusively for 6 months and I'm Loving it!!! I have developed a habit of playing basses twice the price when I'm in my local shops, just to see how they feel/compare. It just gets me chuckling every time! I absolutely love the feel of the neck on the BH5... it's really like no other bass I've tried and feels so great to play on. I have tried a bunch of different strings on this one, including flats, and keep coming back to the DR stainless. I totally feel at home on this bass right now, so I'm pretty pumped.

Also, just finished my pedal board ... it's fantastic, and has done wonders for my tone; the Diamond has really brightened up the BH5 in a nice mellow way. The Cowther P&C is a 'gristley' tone generating monster. And, if anyone has ever had any interest in Reverb, I can highly recommend the Strymon Blue Sky... it's kinda pricey but has some really nice features tailored for us bassists.

As you can see, it looks like there's room for one more pedal...

Judging by your location, it looks like we both share more than the BH5 in common...Great looking bass, by the way! That's Chef's former squeeze, right?

Looks to me like you could swap in a VT Deluxe to take up that space. Loving mine!

It's just ridiculous what a mix-master that thing is!
I used to grouse about not having enough top end outta the BH5, but I think I'll just shut my mouth now that I have the M9.

I brought my Sadowsky RV5-JJ as my #2 bass for the night, and after playing each one for one set, I asked the singer which one she liked better, and she said the BH5.

Hard to argue with that really, and pretty impressive that a bass that never sold well enough to stay in production (and retailed for less than half of the Sadowsky's price) can very much keep a Sadowsky in it's case.

(at least some of the time-I still love that bass too!)

Nope... they are pretty much identical though. I have seen a different pic of your mahogany bh5 that clearly shows the difference in wood grain on the laminate top.

EDIT: I think I just answered my own question.. found on another strings website that "super long scale" means 36" or more.. but I'd still appreciate any feedback you guys have.
