As long as we're posting oldies but goodies, here's my blue 'Fish, #47. She'll be 15 years old soon.

And here's the all-American trio I briefly had. I know where the white one is and I sorta want it back..

J4's came both ways, the switch is "XL mode"

The 3-knob fish came first, the XL4 was added later. I know for sure that bass #1 is a black VVT fish. Like Chef said, the fivers were never 3-knob.

Most of the XL4 fishes seem to be 2nd gen versions, with the thicker body and non-skunked neck. There were some early XL4's made on the original Rumblefish platform though (thin body, skunk neck), like this black one.

I shoulda kept that bugeye JJ4 I had, and XL'd it.
As a straight J, I didn't care for it.

typo... VVT or VT with toggle???? See the answer. Thanks so the VVT does not have a push pull to get the series. IMO nice option once in while

Has Joe Naylor on the Cover and has a nice "Decision" article (which includes some Reverend History as well!)

Thank you gentlemen I can feel the Love It's nice to see some activity around here.

I snagged R5L#01296 and she was in rough shape knobless, rusty & sickly looking. I found these old knobs in the junk drawer and cleaned her up and proceeded to play the snot out of her! Here's a pic of her wearing Black.

I think I must be a knob snob cause I like em weird.

Yes you did, actually. That was the bass where I found out that some of the mounting holes in the early pick guards were later relocated by Rev. I tried to install a gold guard from another fish onto it, but not all the screw holes lined up. Didn't feel like drilling new holes.
