here's the Bh5/ mercalli hybrid again. it's Amazing!!! I'm looking to trade its other halves (fretless BH5 neck on mercalli body) for a 4string rumblefish, hopefully with a rosewood board.

I picked up a Dub King at a really great price via ebay. I finally got to put it through its paces last night at full volume at practice and, OMG, what a kicka$$ bass!

Don't know if it replaces my Rumblefish XL as my #1, but it has such an enormous, lush, full sound that I was enjoying more and more as the night went on.

I did a few tweaks to it to make it more ergonomically suited to me such as lightly sanding down the back of the neck with plastic steel wool, moving the strap button to the neck heel and adding Hipshot tuners to counter some neck dive.

As I have a "1 in, 1 out" policy for marriage preservation, I strongly suspect that the odd-man out will be my Lakland Skyline Scheff.

If anyone is on the fence about the Dub King, go for it!

Guys, you know how it is... I have decided to try something new and have sent the Blackfish swimming off to its new home in NY. I have enjoyed my time in the Reverend Club very much. I hereby relinquish my long-held #3 membership. Perhaps you'll hear from the new owner soon. All the best!

Here's a not so good pic of my rev. PJ, today it's sporting bartolini's but I have a litany of pickups (including original Rev. PJ's) I rotate in and out of it's gills (forgive bad fish pun).

This white fish (another bad pun, sorry) is missing a D string ...does anyone happen to have a D'addario chrome D string lying around that isn't being used, maybe you were thinking of throwing it out, well here's a bass that could put it to good use.. Age doesn't matter.

Peace!

That photo is awesome!

On another note, anybody ever wonder if you could put a neck from a Decision bass on an old reverend body? I have seen Brad Houser put a mercalli neck on an old reverend. I wonder if it can be done with a Decision neck. It would probably give the bass a meatier sound (mmmm.... I am making carne asada later on today, anybody around lakewood, CA is welcome to come, just bring some brews!)

Anyway, just thinking out loud with the bass neck experiment.
