Nice bass, dumbdrum! You will rock that baby. Most have the textures, but there are some other finishes (like dragonfly green I think) that are metal/smooth tops. Can we see pics from somebody with one like that? :)

Thanks. It is really bittersweet to snag a bass that others are competing for here. It's great that it is staying here but man it almost feels like you are taking from others on the board. The upside is that when its time to release one, it gets offered up here first (not implying that i'll be letting this go soon). ;)

The original SIT strings are still on this baby and could stand to be changed although the "deader" strings definitely complement the vibe. What kind of strings you P/J owners are using?

I guess I won't have to fight over the other P/J that Folmeister got when it comes up on the auction block. :p (I think I was second in line for the last one.)

This one is in mint condition, literally like new. The seller wasn't lying when he said that it had been played for only 30mins. It came with a mint reverend teardrop case original sticker, intstructions, sales receipt, and tools. I have to say, that I am really diggin this bass.

Even though I have a Lakland Hollowbody coming tomorrow, I just couldn't resist.:p

So I just picked up a really nice P-bass from a fellow TBer, and while the Fender '62 pickup is going to stay put for now, the seller was nice enough to include, at no cost, a Reverend P pickup. Can't decide what to do with it, though. Maybe slate it for another build? Cram it in one of my other guitars somewhere? Stick it in my Tacoma? I mean, come one, hollow body, reverend pickup, it's KIND OF a rumblefish, right?! ;)

I got a Franken-Fender from the classifieds here, P-body with a J-neck, and it came with a Reverend pickup installed. I consider that bass "part-Rumblefish", for sure! The thing sounds huge. And, the pickup is the 8.7K version. I can only imagine what that 10K pickup sounds like!

I'll second the DA XL170's, and they're and great pricepoint.
Same with the SIT nickelrounds: great string, real nice pricepoint. They were factory issue on Rev's and G&L's for a long time.
I believe the DA XL170's are the factory string for G&L now.
