Were the poles exposed on the earlier models, or was it the other way around?

Didn't the pickup spacing change at one point, too? I seem to recall reading that it was at 2" at one point and 1.5" at another time.

I'll post the data on mine after I get a chance to measure and get the serial # from mine.

Exposed were earlier, tho Joe told me the pups were unchanged aside from that...but that I couldn't take the covers off mine...:(
I can measure my pup locations too if anyone cares to know them.

I got lava swirl too, it's just not as "defined" as yours.

So The UPS truck came by a little while ago. :hyper:

Pictures cannot capture this color accurately. It looks like a piece of brushed gold. Amazing. The J pickup cuts in and out, so there is a bad solder join somewhere, so it looks like I'll have to open it up and rewire it Vol/Blend/Tone. :D

Also, an updated family pic showing both Reverends, my first bass ever (late 80s MIJ Jazz), my SX P, and my '83 Ibanez Musician. I could say something silly like I no longer have GAS, but that's just, well, silly. I want a 4 string USA Cirrus now.

That's a really hot bass there, Justin, and my favorite of your collection.

Love that PJ!

Oddly enough, though, my GAS for a Reverend PJ is subsiding quite a bit. I'm bonding pretty intensely with my Sadowsky PJ, and it's a little hard to imagine another 4-string PJ getting any playing time around here. :hmm:

NO! NO! Don't bid on the 5 string on e-bay. I don't have one yet and this could be mine. All you guys hoarding them need to let some of us rookies have a shot. lol

This is a Reverend Rumblefish P/J 4 string with rosewood board. It is in immaculate shape and includes all original documentation and "case candy" This is USA made and discontinued. Getting rarer. Here is your chance to snag one. Not really sure I want to sell it but... I may want to fund another purchase.
Asking $1050. Like I said I'm not sure about selling so it's priced at a point where I can't say no.

That's me guys. I have committed to purchasing the Dark Starred LeCompte in the classifieds and was thinking that I may need to get some $$ in for it. Like it says in the ad I don't want to sell it but I have it priced at a point where I can't say no. But if it doesn't sell, I'll take the hit for the LeCompte or maybe make up for it elsewhere.

I didn't post it here because I feel a sense of community and feel strange trying to try to get top dollar from you all.

Is someone from here bidding on the blue one on e-bay? I would really like to own one, but can't afford an arm and a leg to get one. If it is someone on here and you already have one, please give a poor fellow bassist without one a shot here. Please?

Yes and No. Wait it out for the right one. They do usually go for that price, but you can find one with at least a generic case. I got my RL5 for $875, local pickup, with a gigbag. But it was only a month or two ago that I saw a really nice RL5 go on ebay for only $560. And I picked up my Brad Houser last week for only $799 + $25 S&H. And that came with the OHSC. My RL5 ($875) actually cost me more than my BH5. Funny huh?:hmm:

As supply shrinks, prices rise. Right now, Reverend's are highly desired basses. They are out of production, few in numbers, and sound awesome.

How long until they are $1000 + ?

Or, there is a current trend to get Reverends, and two years from now they will be $500 on eBay. Who knows?

(Either way, I am thankful I have a JJ and a PJ. I wish the BH was also made in 4 strings. I might have to buy my first 5er to get one)
