I saw the guy today, he told me that everything was okay, that the bridge was placed to compensate something that has to do with the luthery, i don't really know how to explain it in english, but according to that guy everything is fine and i'm really happy.

I can't wait until my next rehearsal to hear how the beast sounds!

Just bought a Rickenbacker 4003 (serial nr 0715470), will get it on Tuesday or latest Wednesday. Heard that there are always some numbers in storage!

I'm trying my 4003FL out in a new configuration--I switched trim to black, and there is now only a bridge pickup wired VT (500k lin) to dual mono outs. The bridge pickup is an NOS 4002 bridge pickup, split-coil, sold to me by a good friend last year. I find that with just a tiny bit of boost at 200 Hz this is all the bass I need. I got a lot of compliments on the sound last night.

What is the pole spacing difference in the neck and bridge pickup or is there any.I was wondering if a neck pickup would work in the bridge position.Thanks in advance.

Correct. I believe it is only the humbuckers that are not dedicated neck/bridge.

Correctamundo. The bridge pup also has to be mounted the correct way to get the poles to line up too. 180 degrees and they don't line up the same.

So that is an extra 2mm on the G and an extra 2mm on the E...

That is still basically the same spacing.

When RIC made the 5 string 4004's, how far past the edge between chrome humbucker cover and the black plastic were the outer strings? I'm assuming the poles went the full width of the black plastic inner part.
