my new ric 4003 fireglo shipped to the uk last week, i have the first fireglo with the caribbean rosewood fretboard. it,s a really nice looking fretboard a lot darker than my other 4003,s. the bass sounds fantastic also.
How much is a all original yet worn 1973 ric 4001 worth?

Hard to tell, but it does look like it have the wave box grover tuners....
I emailed him for pics of the bridge and frets. It's too far for me to just drop in and check it out but close enough to do a deal if it looks promising.

Steve is still where he was then, and he pops in here every once in a while.June 2004 if I have the month correct, outside of Detroit. Ric5 is now out in Denver; don't know what's happened to Cooper (unless that's YOU!). That was right around the time when I started gathering info and photos for the book. Nearly done now.

Hey he lives in my town , rather small town-if your pretty interested id check it out for you , you could paypal him and if necessary i could box/ship it up to you-but i think his price as others have said is on the money or maybe high with the replaced tuners-its also rather worn.
I dont know how low he would go on price he was originally asking 1800$

Works for me but a bit far away.

I say I'm the opposite. I had a JetGlo first but I just had to get my hands on a MapleGlo. The JG is a 2001 and my MG is brand new, Sept. 2011 production. It's become my main player already. This is unbelievable that the Rickenbacker club have six parts..
i'm member from the first part: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/rickenbacker-club-333520/index21.html#post4518439
with this 06 mg:

anyway, maybe you can call me Psycho..
but i started to feel the the mapleglo finish is not for me. too white..too pretty..
so i made a switch and trade it for 91 jetglo..
