Got this 1980 4001 off e-bay in 2003 for $810.00.
All it needed was a good shine. The bass had no fret wear at all. Plays as good as it looks.
The Scratch-X and Zymol did the trick..........

Wow! Looks great.

The red (Burgundyglo?) is similar to my Ruby 1982 4001. Mine has seen a lot more playing wear over the years. I've lusted after a few of the translucent 4001s.

Yeah, I really hooked one there when I saw that on e-bay . There was really not much of a bidding war. I think it started around $750.00. The bass arrived a week later and I couldn't have been happier.

There's just some frogs and snapping turtles in that pond.
Here's what it looks like from upstairs. I just took this today at 9:52 AM....

Black and red rasberries, strawberries, corn, cucumbers.
Tomato plants, carrots, onions, green peppers, spinach, radishes, sweet peas, basil, garlic and onion chives and parsley. I don't think I forgot anything ....

The backyard runs downhill a bit and the white rocks are where the water tends to run to the pond. Notice the hole by the bottom of the white rocks. Thats the passageway to the pond for frogs and muskrats.
On a warm, sunny day there's usually twenty turtles sunning themselves on the shore. The creatures pretty much stay in the pond and dont wander into my yard to much at all.
It's nice in the winter too.............

Sorry for hijacking the thread..........

Scratch-X works great for swirl marks and fine 'scratches' but not for anything that has damaged the finish coat. That said, Scratch-X takes out all of the small marks and scuffs and leaves the finish incredibally shiny and the Zymol on top of it is just the absolute icing on the cake.
