The shoe thread!

My wife tried to buy me sneakers for fathers day and I wasn't too thrilled with the design. We came today to look at other ones and I think they all, repeat all, look ridiculous. Here is just a sample. Am I alone? I just don't think I care about kicks anymore. Anyone like these?

I do think some styles are getting out of hand like these basketball shoes, or those new asics that look like they've been splatter painted. As much as I like splatter paint, those are a little much.

I've got a little bit of a thing for shoes....BTW some time back, there was a shoe thread on here where someone posted some green flip flops with a bottle opener on the bottom. I've been trying to locate it, because I want them! Can't seem to find it though. Ring a bell with anyone?

I have an older one. Back then they were somebody's signature sandal (I can't remember who). Mine are more tan. These days they come in a lot of colors.

Oh, and I sport Double H cowboy boots for shows mostly, and either Keen hiking boots, Merrell Hiking boots, or Keen sandals the rest of the time. BUt I own a lot of shoes I no longer wear and can't seem to throw away for some reason. NB runners, a few kinds of Sketchers, various worn all to pieces hiking boots (good hiking memories in those shoes), and a few sandals/flip flops.

What type of shoe are you looking for? X trainers, hitops, running shoes, street sneakers....?

Street sneakers. When I find a pair of sneakers I like, I stick with them..my current pair is going on 6 years. I wear them with jeans or shorts for tooling around, and might play basket ball in them at most. If it were up to me, I'd wear them until I couldn't anymore, but this honestly makes my wife angry. It was torture to her that I didn't like any of the shoes we saw yesterday at Foot Locker.

I told her to give me the money and I'll buy the shoes myself.
