I haven't had much success with Florsheim, but Rockport always delivers for me as do Hush Puppies and Clarks. Bostonian quality has gone down in the last five years in my opinion, but still seem OK.

Some of the Timberland boots are great, as are Columbia. Not the trendy Timberland ones, the ones made for working and hiking. The helix ones feel great.

Oh man, I get shoe GAS all the time. These are my current dress shoe

Not avalible in Canada (or North America that I could find), so I had to order them from the UK. Well worth every penny. I highly recommend Barker for any dress shoe.

My current daily wear is

I also have another two pairs of Barker dress shoes, a pair of gym shoes (UGLY!), Red Wing work boots (worth every penny of the $300 I spent on those), a few pairs of Chucks, a few pairs of Toms (my favorite summer shoe ever, plus they donate a pair of shoes to a kid in a Third World country for every pair they sell), several random pairs of shoes, a couple pairs of skate shoes, hand made leather moccasins.

On my GAS list are a pair of Vibrum FiveFingers, another pair of Toms, some rubber soled dress shoes (I can't find any that I like), a pair of Clarks, ect. I seem to have a problem :help:

I tried the Vibrams, not a fan. As for rubber soled dress shoes, check out Hush Puppies.

I have always wanted some botas, but I have only ever bought the classics. IMO, the shoes are beyond comfortable. If you end up getting a pair of classics, be warned that they fit large. I usually wear size 9 shoes, but I wear a 8 1/2; although they are supposed to fit snug. Botas fit like regular shoes.

Not a guy. Am I allowed to post anyway? I absolutely love shoes and have more pairs than I probably should. Just off the top of my head I can think of 9 pairs of black boots alone. Or is this just assumed since I'm female?

I haven't taken inventory in a few years. Perhaps I should. Now I'm wondering just how many pairs I do have at this point. Thanks for the weekend project idea!

And the hiking boot talk. I could use some ideas. I'm really not too happy with my last pair - Keens? They were comfortable in the store but I only get through half a day in them before my feet start to hurt. Even with all the different insoles I've tried. But my Timberlands are 16 years old and even though they are in great shape and are extremely comfortable, they are very heavy. They make much lighter boots now, and I think that would be nice.

I was under the impression they are made in Ca.

I have to say I like the idea of toms and definitely would snag a pair but with my screwed up feet I doubt they'd give me the arch support I need.

9 pairs of shoes here. Boots are my weakness.

I have a pair of wolverine boots for my job as a construction worker, a pair of aesics running shoes for working out and a black pair of converse for gigging, that's more than enough for me. When they get really nasty, I just throw em in the washing machine. I'm going on year 4 with my aesics. I love em!

Toms are made in the US. As for the arch support, I found that they have great arch support. Granted, I don't have screwed up feet by any means, but the arch support was much better than I ever expected.
