possibly my favorite series from Ibanez. My SR1005 was one of the best basses I ever owned. One of very few I regret selling.

That is amazing, but I'll see your SR5000 and raise you a new Poplar Burl SR805.
That's a whole lot of Burl going on. I actually saw one of these in person at a local GC last weekend. It was drop dead gorgeous in person. Hate to admit it, but had I known in December that this new model was going to hit the market for 2013, I'd have probably gone for this model. But, my SR-705 is beautiful, so I can't complain too awful much.

Thanks I really dig it. I was going to get one of the newer 800 burl tops but I found this one used and fell in love with the 35" scale and neck through. I love the sound of maple!

That is indeed beautiful...ugh, so much Ibanez GAS. Actually considered selling my Fender the other day.

Haha, nice one. Yeah I'm not doing well financially at the moment, but the SR Prestige 5006e is my dream bass for sure. I like the Premium 1206e too, but if I could afford it, I would go for the SR 5006e for sure!! (and possibly make it fretless )

Those are great basses. I played a 5006 next to a Ken Smith 6and really liked it and I dont play 6ers ever.
