Ok....just pulled the trigger on the Redstone. Impulse buy - totally wasn't needing anything at the moment.....but I really want to see if it will take over my Saturn for a low gain OD.

I’m really thinking about this pedal. I have my Saturn VI had my primary low gain drive, but am wondering if this would offer more tonal flexibility. Especially at 12v
Went with the Tral Ridge version. Do I really need it?I don't know. It might come in handy on my new board. But, I'm a simple man. I see Spaceman, I buy the pedal.

Naturally just after I buy an Apollo. Anyway it Sounds great with Rickenbacker. Getting really difficult to think anything I want to upgrade here.
Very curious to hear how it retains bass and to get an idea of the midrange frequencies. Enjoy when you get it.

I'm looking forward to hearing reviews as well. I was tempted to try grabbing a Redstone but I'm extremely happy with the three pres/drives, including the Saturn VI that's my standard, always-on tone, that are on my board now. Plus I have another 7 or 8 drives that aren't on my board but I like too much to want to get rid of. So I really don't need any more.

But a little goes a long way with the control, and it plumps up really quick. It definitely feels like a FMV tone stack.
My go-to bass for testing pedals is a G&L L-2000.
With the bass going full bore (controls dimed, active with treble boost) it breaks up a bit very quickly.
The break-up is beautiful, in that it's incredibly even, top to bottom, across all strings.
I've only spent about 15 minutes with it, but I'm already in love with it.
Dave, you know I love the Saturn VI, and have recommended it multiple times.
The Redstone is my new go-to.
It's character is incredible, and delivers a drive tone that is so even, I'd swear there was a compressor running.

OK, you also have an SV-Pre. I’m using that one to get a overdriven tone that’s dirtier and a little brighter than my always on tone (which I get from my Saturn VI). It works great on our newer rock songs and blues rock songs. Then I have a FlipTop that I set to give me a warmer and darker tone that’s dirtier than my always-on tone. I love how that sounds on older classic rock songs, blues songs, and the handful of jazz-like songs we do. Those three pedals give me three different flavors of dirt that I have dialed in so nicely and, like I said in my previous post, make me extremely happy with my tonal options.
Would you say the Redstone is likely to knock one of those three off my board? If so, can you say which of my current three tone options would be the one it would likely do best?
I might have to do another gear purge to raise some funds. Tonight I was also drooling over a bass that I’m considering buying.

are you running 9v or 12v? My Saturn is my favorite low drive pedal ever, but you’ve tempted me to try and oust it.
