I believe rosewood is/was inexpensive enough as it was (and is again) used extensively on inexpensive instruments.
The primary reason it was phased out was the CITES restrictions that have since been lifted.

Hi TBer's finally got my Hip Shot clover leaf tuners for my Mini.I said I would post some pics of my mod for y'all.I removed the pick guard & used the factory paint job.all black hardware & screws.Used clear polycarbonate for the electronics cover.The only other thing I might do is install a Music Man duel humbucker PU like the one you see on my bronco in my avatar picture.I kind of think that would ruin the p bass look.What do Y'all think.Should I just leve it alone?After I set it up with my DAderio tapes it plays great.The hipshots are worth the price.I tried cheap tuners & they had to much play in them causing it to go out of tune easyer.Not the case now.It's awsome to play.
Pretty cool! I especially like that clear cover for the control cavity. Had a similar idea this morning to 3D print a small one like that while waiting for my full replacement pickguard to arrive from ebay. Though I can't print in clear, but given how bad my wiring job turned out, that's probably for the best...

I'd say that if you do decide to change the pickup, stay with something that looks like and fits in the same spot.
There are so many decent choices of P-style split pickups available, that something will do the job.
If it was mine, I would make the electronics cover black though, as it kind of distracts from everything else which you've done.
Try cutting and setting a piece of black paper over it, and have another look.
Finally, possibly a Hipshot Kickass bridge.
We've been talking about bridges here during the last few days, and as a result, I think that I'll be getting at least one of those, for perhaps that Jazz which I just bought, though it would fit at least a couple of my other basses with no mods to the locations of the screw holes.
It would fit a Mini-P equally well, as demonstrated by a couple of other posters here, and it can be ordered in black.

Hey guys,thought I'd put this out there.If your looking to protect your Mini P with a hardshell case.I just got a Guitar Center Musicians gear hard shell case item#1275776901317 pos#114397631 $59.99 for my mini and it fits almost perfect, even with my clover tuners.There is some wiggle room,but its not a problem.I couldnt find anything else to fit in the shape of a guitar.other than a custom made $700 one.I love it .It's way better than a gig bag.Has a nice storage pouch and plenty of padding.It's listed for a gibson SGS guitar.Its also compact,not a big square monstrosity.LOL

That's a match which I was not expecting, and a gem of a deal in general, for a hardshell case for ANY guitar or bass !
So you were looking for a case which was not the proverbial rectangle ?
Please post pics of how yours lays in the case, and if you can get to a scale, also tell us what it weighs, empty.
And it's nice when those GC stores are so close that a person can just drop in and see what fits.
The closest Long & McQuade store [Canada's big music chain] is about an hour away from me, and any nearer locally based stores have very little stock/variety on hand, due to space considerations and their own budgets for carrying stuff.

I was just on the GC site again, and I would wager that this Epiphone SG HS case would also fit, if the one which you bought does :

You mean go out in the REAL WORLD into a brick-and-mortar store with other humans to try out multiple cases with the ACTUAL INSTRUMENT you want to fit?!

My typical method is to spend hours looking up specs on the old internets, read forums etc. till I find someone who has already done the legwork.
Either that or I buy something I "hope" will fit based on measurements and return it if it doesn't.
Even worse because we have a GC here in town and I almost never go there, even pre-pandemic.
Lazy AND wasteful.
As a person who played a Gibson EB-O for many years, my Mini P gives my Gibson a run for its money. The Precision pickups perform as well as the VM Jaguar and PJ Precision basses that I have owned
I love the contrasting screws! I never would have thought of that as an option to cover the holes.
Looks great and easy to return to stock.

My short scale 2010 USA Gibson SG bass [sort of an EB3 re-release] has a very nice tough formfitting HS case from Gibson, brand name silkscreened on it, and the case is even made in Canada.
Dunno whether or not they get their cases from Canada for sale with their instruments to other countries.
Someone in the USA or elsewhere would have to comment.

I have my lazy episodes too, and TB can be a very good resource - also Reverb, because they tend to leave expired ads posted.
Just look at what we have covered in THIS club thread alone !
And due to where I live, it is easier and less expensive to look online first, even if I eventually travel to one of the stores to buy - and sometimes I do.
Others which apparently fit the Mini-P are generic rectangular Strat and Tele HS cases and related gig bags.
For my Hofner Ignition Club bass, I bought a way oversized Jack Casady bass case offered by Yorkville, though I have since figured that it might fit into a typical dreadnought acoustic guitar case, which is of a similar shape but shorter, something which neither I nor the sales people considered while I was shopping.
It also will fit into a Gibson 335 guitar case, if someone removes a support near the heel of the neck, but I chose not to buy a new case and summarily butcher it.

My Pleasure,But see guys my guitar center is only 4 miles from my house,so I did the work for Y'all.I brought my mini in and tryed it in a gibson case.The GC guy said no way ,but I said way,so we tried it and it fit.So I took a chance and ordered the cheap musicians gear case & it was a match.Even fit better than the gibson case.Had way more room.Its an awsome heavy duty case.Has great craftsmanship & is padded very well.& even has a lock & key.Not bad for China So you see, Im happy to try things out for us here in TB land.I use my strap to fill the gap on the lower bout of the case.It works very well.It fits way better than the gibson case.Its skinnyer than an acoustic case,& slightly fatter than the normal square case,but still very compact.Nice work! I wouldn't have thought to try an SG case.

It'd be awesome if you could post a picture of the Mini P in the case.
A G&G style case will not work...too short. However, a Gator-style rectangle guitar case (soft "case", but with a lift-up lid) will work. You have more room at the headstock end. Too short for a short scale bass, but should work OK for the Bass Mini.
