The Squier Mini Precision Bass Club

Darn you Mini P club!!! ;)
Got a GAS attack and now I'm in the P Bass club.
So much for keeping it short scale! :roflmao:
~
At least you didn't switch to a different instrument instead of bass. :smug:

Though music stores would still be happy to accept your money, even if you had. :D :greedy:

As for scale lengths, I currently own electric basses of these specs :

34" [several]
33.25" [everyone should know which brand that THIS one is]
32" [two]
30.5"
30" [several]
28.5" [just a neck so far]

Do you feel a bit better now ?

And the only TB club at which I have become any kind of member is here.

And I still get GAS. :eyebrow:

This new one makes 2, no wait 3, no crap 4!
It's happening!

I forgot about the U-Bass and one I have in storage I bought years ago before I started playing again. I think it's an Ibanez, don't remember the pickup configuration on that one.

I will not divulge how many stringed instruments I have. Honestly I'm not 100% sure of the count.
That would mean I've moved to the frist stage, acceptance, but I don't have a problem so no need to go there!

To confirm fit in another Strat case.
It's the "Fender Pro Series Strat/Tele Case"

Two of the latches are "briefcase" style locking latches.
Nice case overall. Though the latches feel made from really flimsy light gauge metal, not premium case level.
To me not worth it near the list price fo $180

Shout out to Adorama. I found it "used" at $70 on that site. The condition was listed as "excellent +" but I think it was "open box" was still in the original box and still in the plastic bag.
This case appears to be discontinued and replaced by the "Invalid Link Removed".
Looks to be the same on the outside but the guitar is slanted in the new case now with one large internal compartment instead of two like mine.

This is real dumb, but what does GAS mean?I think it has somthing to do with the urge to buy new gear.If so I get GAS quite often.

G.A.S. = Gear Acquisition Syndrome

Been feeling quite GASy myself, lately…

Guitar
Acquisition
Syndrome

EDIT: Too late. Yes also "Gear" applies.
~
Yes, Gear, but I'm sure that in a forum about regular guitars, they would say Guitar.

That all said, don't forget BHPD ! :smug:

Bass Hoarding Personality Disorder :jawdrop:

It's not as easily pronounced, but every bit as applicable for many of us here. :D

BHPD is a deadly disease that can wreck one's sex life and/or marriage and is brought on by excessive GAS. It's necessary to get the affected co-dependent to BPHD-Anon, because once a bass addict contracts BHPD it is almost totally incurable..!!

I feel like you're looking at me! I don't have a problem YOU have a problem! :roflmao:

I was all done for now, GAS more than satified for a while.
Then I found a used Bronco for $100! :hyper:

The Bronco will satisfy my urge to mod. I got plans for that.

I was considering tearing into the Mini but surprisingly I like the Torino Red and may leave it alone other than maybe a pickguard & knob swap.

Those are famous words, ALL of them !

I've heard them many times, from many people, both on this site and elsewhere.

The good thing about that last part is that you are definitely NOT alone, and there is no shame, at least not from folks here - just a bit of friendly teasing. :smug:

As severe as this condition is, it IS rather common, and I am be referring both to GAS and to BHPD.

So anyway, about this Bronco bass.... just when did you acquire it ? - After the Jazz which you linked only the other day ? :D

If so, then that would be TWO basses this week alone. :eyebrow:

As some of us have posted on other occasions, Broncos look to be a good starting point for modding, and I am watching for a deal on a used one, though in Canada, they seem to be holding close to their original value in the used market.

i've always heard it as Gear Acquisition Syndrome, and i've seen it on art supply and camera gear forums every so often.

Even though I haven't (played out/had a rehearsal) in almost 2 years, and only pick up my Mini for ten minutes at a time a few times a month, and already have several basses, I still look through the local want ads regularly, and my heart still beats a little faster when I see a Bronco, or other shorty, or some other cool piece of gear, at a good price.... and I want it.

How's that for a run-on sentence? :roflmao:

I'm a sick boy.
