I'll never understand how Americans deal with fractions, they get complicated real soon for me. 5/64", 3/32" etc.
In fact, isn't that why the third pounder burger failed? People thought it was smaller than a quarter pounder IIRC.
We are dumb for using the imperial system, but struggling with measurements that make no sense makes us feel smart!
Was just watching people ask about necks on the warmoth forum, can't give an answer with out doing some math, the fractional system is utter stupidity. Shouldn't need a chart to know which number is bigger.
I wish they came in colors! Squier should look at the wonderful paint jobs people have posted here and take a hint. Shell pink, Dakota blue, Sunburst w/gold pickguard, etc. Fantastic work, guys!

Just acquired a Mini P in Dakota Red which in the UK is quite hard at the moment. Had a father daughter guitar day today, got my Mini P in the local guitar shop but they didn't have the Mustang guitar so we had to go an 90 each way journey up the road to get hers. You know a bass is tiny when a Mustang guitar is bigger lol, but I love it she will now go with my 3 Ibanez Mikro's as I love the 28.6" scale.
Now my original plan for her was to do a Steve Harris build but that would require:
Fender Hi Mass Bridge: £34 Instead of the BadAss II which is £120
Seymour Duncan Pickups: £120
New Tuners: £70
Mirrored Pickguard: £40
Flatwounds: £50
However if I abandon the full Steve Harris build and change the silver parts to black I already have sitting spare:
AllParts Economy Hi Mass Bridge (Gotoh 201 Clone)
EMG Geezer Butler P Pickup
Tuners I have some black Ibanez ones spare at the moment but will eventually upgrade
So all I'll need is a new pickguard which wouldn't have to be mirrored and the flatwounds which I was going to get anyway.
I mean black and red is cool and my favourite combo, but all my other basses except 1 have black hardware. However the wife would be far happier if I spent less on upgrades, and it feels stupid leaving decent parts going to waste that I already own. I was already going to abandon the Seymour Duncan for the spare Geezer anyway, so the full Steve harris build was going to be compromised anyway.

Well I opted against the mini Steve Harris and instead reused the parts I had laying around so she now has full black hardware and an EMG Geezer Butler for good measure.
Calling out all Dakota Red owners, if you changed pickguard which colour did you get and can you post photos please, I'm after some inspiration.

Mirror is cool as hell. But an aged or bright white pearloid would look great on the red.

Imperial system sucks. When I was a kid we were told repeatedly in school that America would be going metric so we had to learn it. It never happened, but I wish it had. Adding/subtracting fractions sucks. Shoe sizing as well. It makes so much more sense to buy shoes based on the centimeter length of your foot like you do ski boots (say, 26.5) rather than the goofy Kid/Men/Women system we have now, which varies from one brand to the next and is different between the U.S. and Europe. So absurd.
Agreed. I do all my own measuring in metric because it's just easier to my slightly ADHD/autistic brain. Forget about trying to figuring out this tick mark on the ruler is 13/16".
Luckily, most shoe companies list their Euro sizing now. Hell if I can ever remember what size I wear though. One of those things where, because I can check it all the time, I don't commit it to memory.
Clothing and shoe sizes are absurd; if all the manufactures would use empirical measurements of either system that would be great. Especially if they were capable of delivering a true 35" inseam. I too was told we were going metric. I ignored them.
