My son and I had a meet and greet with Frakes at a Comic Con in Adelaide some years back. He's a good bloke. We educated him on ANZAC day and it's meaning to Ozzies and Kiwis alike!

I've seen the first five episodes of the abomination. I can't say I'm watching it with an open mind, but I'll get to it. Frakes has directed a lot of real Star Trek episodes, but I don't think it was his directing that made those episodes good.Have you watched the Academy episode in question? I did and I kind of liked it.
I agree, that was a movie that should not have been made. However, the good thing about the movie is that I camped for the night at that very spot, Trona Pinnacles. Very interesting place.
