I’ve avoided watching the episodes about the TNG movies because I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns, and I’m afraid I’ll lose respect for the guy if he likes them.

I was soooo excited when Generations came out. And then Data loses is god damn mind and Troi crashes the ship and Picard chooses an old fat man to help him fight a psychopath on a bridge minutes before disaster instead of going to ten forward days before where Malcolm McDowell was having drinks and could’ve been easily apprehended. Then, oooh, the Borg or back? This could be good. Nope. Then, hmmm…some kind of fountain of youth planet and Picard rebelling against a corrupt admiral? Nope. Trash. Then Nemesis cemented the quartet of crap.

I admire your passion on this, even though I liked Generations for the nostalgia.

Having said that, the TNG movies really aren’t very good. In fact they’re pretty bad. But bad Trek is better than no Trek to me. I guess I’m getting increasingly soft in the head.

I’d rather have no Trek than bad Trek. Different strokes.

I’m guessing/hoping that a few years down the line cbs/paramount, or whoever owns the property now will sell it and their reign of terror will end.

I really doubt that. Star Trek was front and center for CBS All Access. They basically built the service around the draw of Star Trek. It's the reason we hear about so many new spinoffs, or at least concepts for them. If they sell the ST franchise to someone else, they basically got nothing but reruns of various iterations of CSI. Ha.

Also, and I can't explain why, I find the new name Paramount + (or is it Plus) slightly off-putting.

Yeah who knows what’s gonna happen. At this point I’m surprised Netflix and Amazon still have the series. I thought for sure they’d be taken off once cbs took over.

I enjoyed the Deep Space 9 video.

Good information, good pace and brought an angle I never thought of to some of the episodes and characters.

In a Invalid Link Removed, it was first reported that CBS Studios has renegotiated their deal with Alex Kurtzman. The new $160 million deal has now extended his stay for five and a half years, putting him in charge of the Star Trek Universe through at least 2026. The deal was later confirmed by Variety, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter.

That said, I have yet to be as enthusiastic as I was when Voyager was the new kid on the block. Star Trek TOS And TNG Movies Jump From Paramount+ To AMC+

As of June all six of The Original Series feature films along with all four of The Next Generation feature films were included in Paramount+. The latest film – Star Trek Beyond – was also added in June, with Star Trek Into Darkness added in late July, leaving the first J.J. Abrams Star Trek film the sole film not part of the streaming service.

However as August rolled in, instead of the film catalog finally being complete, all of the TOS and TNG movies disappeared. The six TOS movies and all but one of the TNG movies are now available exclusively on the AMC+ streaming service. Generations also left Paramount+ but is now not available to stream anywhere. In July Paramount+ did offer some warning that the films had a limited time on the service, sending out a tweet saying you can stream them until the end of the month. So, as of now only Beyond and Into Darkness remain on Paramount+.

Well, last week I managed to finish Voyager. To be honest, I (mostly) stopped caring about what happened with her crew before the series ended, but cared enough to want to find out if they made it home.

I had not watched it much when it was in first-run because I didn't care. I found that rewatching the entire series only drummed up minimal interest on my part.

Overall, Voyager is (in my opinion) EXTREMELY un-even and just not that interesting. It made me kinda sad because I really wanted to love it.

Voyager had some great stories. Really good individual sci fi stories. Overall though it wasn’t great. The ship was too pristine and functional after everything they’d been through. Half the characters weren’t likable. And of course, the immoral thug murderer Kathryn Janeway. RIP Tuvix.

To confess - I was rooting for Nelix's demise halfway through season 2. And (while I cannot cite specifics) I was more than happy to see the "Prime Directive" violated in the pursuit of actual benefit to developing civilizations. Although I am still somewhat ambivalent on the insane amount of time-travel/alternate timeline episodes that seemed to be "resolved" with a kind of hand-waving I had not seen in other Star Trek series.

I know I am being very shallow....But when 7 of 9 was introduced, I really loved the show,
Her struggles with humanity reminded me a little of Spock
But her general demeanour I found very thrilling to watch...a fantastic character....and great struggles..

I must confess also...That I fell deeply in love with Jeri Ryan
