I just got the first runs of the mix from the producer before it gets sent for mastering and wow the bass is ridiculously clear and distinct in the mix. It's pretty embarrassing, in fact, I'm not used to being so far front.
I'm finding the bridge pup of this bass to be really really really cutting. Sometimes, when rehearsing, I turn the blend away to hide a little.

I figured I'd get in on the fun. Here's my stable of Status basses and the second pic is a headless 88 I just got from Germany today with the stacked Bass / Treble. Sounds as good as my S2000, I was totally blown away.

I picked this sweet brownies last night, and can't put it down, love the tone!
the 93 status energy was originally fretted, but the previous owner replace the fretboard with unlined rosewood
I'm going to convert it back to fretted since I already got 5str fretless (Ibanez ergodyne 905f)
adding some finger ramp and slap ramp also, make it more sweeter than ever!!

OK now, here she is, the old Buzzard Lady !! As rare as hen's teeth, this is one of the few remaining playable Status Graphite Buzzard B1 basses.
This one won't end on the wall of a HRCafe or in a safe in Dubai or Tokyo, this one will remain a player's tool as it was built for.
It's carbon, only carbon, the whole bass is one piece of carbon. This really has been a masterpiece in carbon moulding technology !!
As for the sound - it's huge, thunderous. I own several custom basses by Status and Modulus,
but this one is unique. No other bass sounds like a Buzzard B1.
It's hard to describe,
a bit of Alembic "hifi", a bit of a Precision aggressivity, a bit of a hollowbody deepness
(this bass is in fact kind of hollowbody, carbon core stuffed with hard foam).
Of course I'm very proud of owning this bass and playing it.
As for the history of this one, it's a very early one (1996?) built by Rob Green of Status Graphite for John Entwistle, a prototype without serial number, with the four aligned knobs, and without any fretboard
marks. After research it seems this is a unique one, and played at least once by the man himself !
In this picture taken from an old Status Graphite brochure, you see John playing a B1 with the four aligned knobs.
Chances are great that it's exactly the one I own

Gorgeous basses all, but then, otherwise we probably wouldn't be here. Yes, Gorn Captain, necks *do* count. The precedent was set when Shedua511 showed up with four necks, which seemed clearly fanatic enough to qualify, and, well, where do you draw the line after that?
That Buzzard looks like it would be a real joy to play. The lower horn design on those always bugged me, but I'm jealous as Hell, just the same! ;o)

Aw, crap, that's what I get for catching up on this stuff at 2AM. I thought I'd scanned the list for all the prospective newcomers, but clearly missed you. Your handle was familiar, of course, but that could have been from other threads, like Gorn Captain. You just keep that #24. I will give the highly sought-after #42 (life, the universe, everything, etc.) to the next TBer who shows up fresh with a Status.Er, Sid.......I already have a number: 24.
I'm loving this neck. I've always liked ludicrously low action and have learned to live with minor fret buzz, but it's just so effortless with this. From fret one to fret 20, every note is just perfect.
Here are my Stingray 5s with Status necks!The white from 92 and the black almost new.
