Sorry, I know this is in the wrong place, I couldn't find the new thread option. I just received delivery of a Stealth headless 4 string fretless, fitted with Paramatrix EQ and Tri -Max pickups . Pics will follow. This bass is AMAZING !!! My question is: Are there any resources available regarding the Paramatrix EQ and Tri-Max pickups? Tutorials, how to's ? Thanks for all your help.

I have a question for you guys that maybe can be answered here before I email Rob green. May I order a status jazz neck with a satin finish? Or did they only, glossy?

I've had several gloss ones in the past but never bothered to ask

I have this pickup and EQ set up in an S3 (it's in my avatar). For me the key to getting a good tone is in the low mids controls. I set the frequency sweep to the low end of its range and then turn the cut/boost to boost about 25% from the detent.

This fills in the lows nicely. Tweak the sweep and boost a little depending on the room/amp/cab/taste. I use both pickups on, dual coil mode (middle position) and the rest of the controls on the guitar and amp (Berg B amp with berg 410 or 210 or a Mesa subway 115 or DI via a Tech 21 QStrip DI) flat (unless some minor flavoring is required).

At first I was concerned that I had all these controls and set them flat. Now I don't care. It's a Status and it sounds like a Status!

Depends on the model, of course. Mine are both headless, but my Stealth has a normal enough body to be used with "A-Frame" electric guitar/bass stands. The Streamline is trickier. I've tried the technique I used to use with my Steinberger XL2A, which was to use an old-style stand where the "arms" that hold up the guitar body are a wishbone that pivots on the vertical shaft, and pivot the arms so that one is under the 'Berger, while the other pivots up and around to rest against ths side of the bass. But with the Streamline, I'll frequently just lean it against one side of my amp - the dual strap buttons make a pretty stable base.

I've no experience whatsoever with this option, but my forthcoming instrument is a 32" scale with a bendwell.

The bendwell exists because Mark King likes to be able to bend harmonics by pushing down on the strings past the nut on headed basses (something obviously not possible with conventional headless designs). This technique is not very effective if you use strings that are not of a fairly light gauge. So if you like bending harmonics then the bendwell will be of use to you. If not, then it won't be of much benefit (unless you simply prefer shorter scale basses).

Thank you. I don't think it will do me much good but it still allows me to use full scale strings which should Allow me to feel comfortable with tension anyway

Okay, so to anyone who's done the 5 string version with the Bendwell... how does the 32" scale jive with the low B string? And not as a bendy thing, but more so, how does the 32" B string sound in the mix?
I've always loved the feel of a 32" but never tried one in a 5er (of any type, not just Status). And if I had my druthers of a Status, I've considered the 32" as an option.

Also, how does the 5 string perform with lighter gauge versus heavier gauge in that option?
