I am eagerly awaiting my first Status...
Headless, lined fretless, 5 string.
Never done the headless thing before, but I'm excited.

Well it's arrived and it's, well, kinda weird!
I've never had a headless before so it'll take some adjustment.
So far I love everything about it except the position of the dots on the edge of the fingerboard. Both my other fretless have dots in the "regular" position so I need to stop looking at what I'm doing (which will take a while with the extra string).
The volume knob clicks, which is not what I'm used to, and the treble adjustment doesn't seem to have a center point, whereas the bass does.
It isn't light, but it balances perfectly and sounds great. Super bright compared to my Clement, but that's kind of the point. I don't need multiple basses with the same inherent tone.
Evidently it's from around 1994 as per my emails with Status, and the only real flaw on it is where someone stuck a strap button on the back of the upper horn.
It's also highly out of aesthetic for my band, but I don't care!
Realistically I'm going to keep playing my 4 string with the band, but this will be a great addition to my collection, and a totally different sound.

I've had my Status Graphite Electro II Fretless for about a month and a half. This thing SINGS with LaBella flats. Really love this thing. Got it unknowingly off an old friend from here.
I don't know if it's always been this way, but the Status preamps I've had always seemed to have the pan and volume "reversed" from what I was used to. For example, the pan would be the knob closest to the neck, volume under the bridge pickup. You may have that as well, I'm not familiar with the older models like that, but it could be what you're experiencing with the "volume click".
As for the bass and treble knobs and detents, try taking the knobs off of the pot. If you get the click in the center with the knobs off, put the bass knob back on, then put the treble on but make sure it doesn't come as close to the bass knob. I've had a number of basses where that fixed it.
If that doesn't work, try spraying out the pot with something like Deoxit. Sometimes gunk can mess with the detent, too.
VERY cool bass, I've seen that one come up before and kept trying to convince myself to get it. I just wasn't a fretless guy.
OK I've had the Streamline for a couple of weeks now and I've had a chance to bond with it a bit so here are my thoughts thus far.
I think the back is just as elegant as the front!
It is super punchy with plenty of growl. Before it arrived, I was thinking that I would swap the pickups and pre with Aguilar OBP-3 but the stock pickups and pre sound really good. It is mid-forward so really doesn't a mid control, the 2-band is actually pretty flexible and I've been able to get nice warm tone from it as needed. The pickups are maybe a little similar to the EMGs I put in my blue custom headless in the picture. They react well to aggressive play and have good tone. If you're looking for a P-bass tone, this probably isn't it
I generally have my action set really low and had to really play with the truss rod and saddles over a period of days to get it where I was comfortable with it without any buzz. I still have to adjust the saddle height from time to time to minimize the buzz and maintain low action. I find that the truss rod control is really odd because it only really affects frets 3 through about 11. I tend to keep my neck pretty flat and it's hard to do with this one even with no relief it still has a bit of bow. So I just followed the FAQs on the Status site to keep adjusting until I get comfortable
With that said, I'm am a very percussive player and use a lot of ghost notes and harmonics and all of this 'jumps' off the Streamline. The first couple of days I had to learn to play much lighter and didn't need to work hard for tone. I have some really nice basses (all wood of course) and this is a different animal.
It has crazy sustain, I can hit harmonics easily all over the neck... between the 3rd and 4th frets usually have a pretty narrow area to hit them and depending on how you have a bass setup, might never sound that loud or clear - that's not a problem here. They are loud and sustain for days. I have a couple of songs where I use some melodic harmonics and some accent notes, at last rehearsal I saw smiles on the singer and lead guitarist faces when I started playing these - very clear and present.
The B string sounds like a piano - a low B on the piano that is so crisp and clear. So for me, I really love the aggressive tone and that I can play with a really light touch and get everything out of it that I'm expecting with little effort.

The volume and blend are "backwards" from every bass I've had, but I don't really mess with those much, if ever.
I still need to play with it more to really get a good feel for it, but so far I'm appreciating the differences it brings tonally.

I tell ya, I tried to buy used but these things sell as fast as they're posted! 5'ers are tough to find too...
I made an offer on one in the UK that was just listed on a UK bass site and it sold to a guy in Cleveland within the same hour that I made the offer
I finally contacted Status directly and he had one in stock, so I jumped on it... glad I did, these things are a different animal.
I saw another come up on eBay right after mine arrived, so I contacted the seller and it sold the same day it listed

This is a cool bass, I was watching the bid as well but backed off on the dual Js (that's never worked for me) but I imagine this thing sounds amazing.
I like the blend and volume being swapped, I think it reduces the chance of hitting the volume knob by accident while playing. This really works for me on my Streamline. I actually did a similar setup on my custom 5 headless (see photo markup) like this years ago when I built it because I had limited room in the control cavity and that config worked better... so I've gotten used to it.
