I'll try and answer all the questions.
Yes the album is available for download just click on the link in my signature.
We recorded the album at a local studio, everything was recorded live off the floor, we used as many mics as possible on the cabs and drums and a few room mics. We did it in two separate weekend sessions, probably 50 hours of recording and another 10 for fixes, guitar overdubs and mixing.
For the bass I used several basses. 4003 Ric with flats, 4001 Ric with rounds, p-bass and j-bass with flats. Just depended on the song, I did not mix basses within the songs though.
Cab was an SVT 810, amp was a YBA-3. Used an Angry Goat fuzz and a Sparkle Drive for some grit. I think there was a track with a messdrive too. There was a speaker level DI and a clean DI. The clean track was used to re-amp some of the louder parts. We re-amped through an old Sunn guitar head (don't know the model, not one you see often). It was set to a clean tone but we threw a Garnet Herzog in front when we wanted more distortion and fuzz. I don't think we ended up using much of the cab mic, just the room mics to make the bass sound more natural.
Having said all that, 75% of the bass sounds were from the speaker level DI on the Traynor.
The guitar tracks are where we went kind of crazy. We over dubbed with all kinds of amps, orange, matamp, Marshall, sunn. Used the Herzog on some of them too. But the main guitar tracks are all Peavey Butcher. Nothing fancy for effects, DD3, Crybaby and Phase 90. We used a space echo on Backyard but basically it was turn the amp up and then slam it with a Fairfield Barbershop, fantastic boost/OD pedal.
Overall we were happy with how it turned out, there are parts that we would have loved to re-do. I know there are some bass parts where my groove could have been better, but we decided to keep the feel as live as possible and we did not want to spend too much money on it.

Too lazy to read all 40 pages of this thread so i say check out MASTODON. I can honestly say this is the band of my decade( you know when you're old and you say i grew up listening to ______) I hope you guys enjoy Mastodon and if you already listened to them, then you know they're awesome
i know that the pedal runs counter to the bluebeard/big muff doomy goodess of this thread, but is anyone rocking a gated fuzz? zvex woolly? mamoth clone? iron ether oxide? how's it sit in the mix?
i tried a wooley mammoth and the thing had no low end at all. if you tune really low like to A or G, and you rip into that low string, or you try and ride on the low string, the WM kept no low end. same with the american big muff. the fuzz tone was fine but all low end either farts out or went away.
the bluebeard is like impossible to overload, its the best fuzz ive ever played. 0 loss of low end and not a single problem with riding on those low notes. HAIL SONNY!

I have always been impressed with the Bluebeard. Plus Sonny's a cool guy to deal with!

Thursday, April 14 at Sidebar in Baltimore is Billows, Borracho (stoked to play with these guys!), The Osedax and Amarok on tour from California. I pray I play before The Osedax because playing after them is embarrassing and makes you feel inadequate!
Tuesday, April 12 at Sonar in Baltimore is Billows, Questioner (awesome local prog metal band), Sistered, and The Ocean from Germany! Some killer prog bands here and of course we will be laying down the stoner grooves.

I know what you mean, we have our record release show tomorrow night and we have some seasoned vets opening for us. The two bands have former members of The Illuminati, its a little intimidating.
