Nice one @d00dr! The LU is my personal favourite, since it is so reminiscent of my (semi-retired) Orange tube head; I have the UA relegated to my mini/fly rig, while the LU gets work on my main gigging board. I don't have the mini-tube version, though, so that's extra cool.

Just got my first Sushi Box pedal (Finally v2)! 
All I can say is wow,
I had no idea a simple tube DI could be so versatile in tone shaping.

In some cases I prefer the mini tube and custom color versions especially older pedals. I have a Candy Apple Red/ laser etched Particle Accelerator [my first SB], Noir Black/ laser etched Slampegg Bee mini tube [was Nathan's own pedal] and a Candy Blue laser etched Echosaurus. My other SB coolness is the Bass Dude prototype.
Yeah, I'm bummed I never got to have one of my SB pedals in a holographic powedercoat like Prismatic Universe or a hypershift pearl... I'm ordering a MORE soon and would be willing to do almost anything to get it in a holo or hypershift color...

The biggest factor in me discontinuing custom finishes is the amount of time it takes, the second being that the UV printer broke and it seemed as good a time as any to make the change. I actually got the parts in to fix the printer about 3 months ago and still haven't found the time to install them, so I definitely don't have time to bring custom finishes back.
The wisdom of experience has spoken, so I'll keep a firm grip on my fave boxes of sushi...

That's incredibly tempting! ...especially because it's not like the MORE really needs any labels on its controls...

Sort of...but not makeshift. I see it as a better solution than just having Finally. The advantage of having separate preamp and passive DI box is that in case the preamp (or any other part of my signal chain) fails I can plug directly into passive DI..and the gig is saved!
I've had several people ask me if Finally would still function when power fails or if the tube goes bad mid-song, and my response was basically no, because nobody (including Noble, REDDI, etc) does that. But then I thought, why doesn't anybody do that? Obviously the preamp is important, but finishing the gig without the preamp is better than not finishing the gig. So when I designed Venus Z, I added a switch to bypass the preamp and turn it into a passive D.I.
Wow, that's a great feature-I didn't know that Venus Z had it...
I think that there were two other tube preamps with this possibility. Khan DI had it...but it was omitted 1 or 2 years ago. The other tube DI with this feature is Gnome Plus...
To clarify: I didn't mean to criticize Finally...I just wanted to explain that I feel safer having a back-up plan (passive DI).

The Venus Z does and it works like a champ...
I've built a couple of lunchbox style boxes with Space Heater internals and they all have a DI bypass switch on them. One of them I built was for a guy that does a bunch of studio stuff and sometimes they want a different sound so he can just flip the switch and send them a dry signal or he can send dry through the XLR and wet through the 1/4' ourput. I'm also in the process of bypassing those switches for another friend, but he wants to leave the switches on the box as "Producer Switches", which I heartily endorse.
