Knobs could be fine but my fat fingers may not even get in to those switches. Maybe above and below the knobs? Or both above or both below? Depends on their function as to what position makes the most sense.

Unfortunately none of those ideas are possible, this is literally the only space on the board that controls would fit. Sounds like a no-go for this prototype, back to the drawing board.

I may be displaying my ignorance, but why not simply run wires from the PCB to relocated switches?

It's not so much ignorance as it is me not showing what the inside of the box looks like. The enclosure is absolutely jam packed, there's no room even for offboard switches (ignoring the fact that I refuse to do offboard switches). I recognized when I was laying out the circuit board that it was close together, but there just isn't any room anywhere else and it was the best I could do.

EDIT: just made the mistake of plugging it in and finding out it sounds incredible. I kind of wish I didn't know that, now I have to find a way to make it work.

Would concentric pots help free up space?

Not really, because I can't get them in the 9mm right angle mount like my typical pots so I would have to cut holes in the board and jump wires to the pots, which I would hate doing. Also I can't find them in the value I need, so that's a non-starter.

Are the switches more of a set and forget type item, or are they something you'd want to change between songs for instance? if it's a set and forget situation then I think they're fine

Depends on what they are for, if they are HPF and ground lift for the XLR then it would be fine.
Set once and forget is fine, you can easily twist knobs without touching the switches.
If you want to change them between songs then not very good for old fat fingers, or any fingers really.
Is that pedal radioactive ?

Just got a Finally v2 delivered. Have quick questions if anyone knows. 1) the 1/4" and XLR outputs are sonically the same, correct? 2) Does feeding the unit 12v improve performance, headroom, etc?

I actually asked Nathan awhile ago and he pointed out that the PF-50T and 20T have preamps similar to the B15, and the V4B was very similar to the SVT, so he was unlikely to do either. A Slampegg will get you some of the way there, but not all of the way there. However, I totally agree with you that I would like my PF50T in a smaller format A lot of that saturation comes from the power tubes, so if there was a way to get power tube saturation in a stompbox, that would be a million+ dollar idea.

I'm using the preamp out of the PF-20T often to drive my IEM rig. The Power Tube DI is too noisy for IEM. As the PF-20T has boost and cut Bass Middle and Treble... 50, 550 and 4 k respectively. I think the ranges are something like -8 to +12 ? Been a while since I read the manual ;-)

It is it's own ampeg thing. Your PF-50T is very similar to the V4B reissue. I've had both and prefer the 20 by a mile. It has a sweetness I couldn't find in the 50T..

1) pretty much, yup. They come from the same output of the preamp, but the XLR output goes through a transformer on the way out.

2) nope, the tube will see 350-ish volts regardless of what input you give it.

Not much. The prototype is still around here somewhere, and I started a revision of the design, but I got distracted by something shiny and never finished it.

Haven't had the pleasure of playing through a 20T, but since I rolled a 12AU7 in V1 in my 50T, I've been really loving the tone. Problem is the unweildiness of the form factor. I have lots of good sounding stuff in my arsenal to choose from, including my Sushi pedals. Tonight I'll be playing through my Nobelium and PJB gear, tomorrow something else
