Cool bass. Looks like if a Spector and the Lochness monster had a baby.

So I don't get to keep this forever, but my friend from work is letting me borrow his old Tom Martinson bass for a bit while he settles in with his new bass. I like my basses, but I like other people's basses too.

According to the Tom Martinson website, that model is called the "Nessie."Cool bass. Looks like if a Spector and the Lochness monster had a baby.

Looks fine, to me. It would be too close with larger diameter knobs.I feel like this is one of those "if you have to ask, you already know the answer" things, but are these controls too close together?

Yeah I can do it if I'm careful, but I also have little fingers. I could easily foresee accidental knob turns when flipping switches and accidental switch flips when turning knobs. It definitely looks as though flipping a toggle would be difficult without simultaneously turning a knob….so suboptimal.

Knobs could be fine but my fat fingers may not even get in to those switches. Maybe above and below the knobs? Or both above or both below? Depends on their function as to what position makes the most sense.I feel like this is one of those "if you have to ask, you already know the answer" things, but are these controls too close together?

Yeah I made the joke about it but then I started actually thinking and damn that would be sweet. I'm imagining a Boss tuner with a tube buffer (like the vampire slayer)Btw, I was starting to daydream about a tube based tuner after a comment someone made. When engaged it mutes and it’s a tuner, when disengaged it’s a tone enhancer…that doesn’t look like a tuner pedal at first glance.
or does it(?)…a tuner with a gain, more gain, extra gain and face melt gain knob? Throw in some extra add on gain switches and you’ve got a pedal going.
