This actually raises a question around the uncertainty I was having recently! Between the Slampegg and London Underground demos, it sounds like the LU pushes harder into breakup and straight-up drive territory. As bassists, we love breakup even more than moody pop singers do, which may explain the migration away from the PA (if the LU is like a PA but ruder)...that or just about every bass player here's got a PA now heh

To switch up comparisons, might one say that the gain on tap between the PA and the Slampegg are similar? As in, is the Slampegg more of a "relationship on the rocks" than full-on breakup kind of thing?

I was lazily waiting for someone else to answer this, but I guess I'll take it

So really the only big difference between PA and LU is the tone stack placement. In PA it's between the two gain stages, in LU it's at the very end after both gain stages. The stages are actually set up for the same gain, and they both have about the same output level, then there are small differences in component values that result in the "voicing." But I have had a handful (I think 6 or so) requests for a LU with a PA tonestack, and it gives an excellent best of both worlds setup in my opinion.

Now Slampegg is a completely different beast. PA and LU both have high output levels and are capable of some beautiful drive tones, but Slampegg breaks up earlier and breaks up dirtier. So I would say that Slampegg has more dirt, but less overall output volume.

I got a return back from a customer that wanted to go in a different direction so I have a violet sparkle Slampegg that will be for sale, and I have a couple things around I've been thinking about letting go of and may talk myself into it. I know some people pronounce it "dibs", but I pronounce it "dibs". And the spelling doesn't vary. "would buy" will never be the proper spelling (or pronunciation) for "dibs". I think you know where I stand.

Eh, I'm sure I'll get some family time, but when all the presents are opened I'll probably get ignored for a bit I took last night off for family time though, that was fun.

So I ended up lazing around pretty much all day, it was pretty nice. After the kids went to bed I watched a movie with the wife then talked her into working on pedals with me. Together we got the whole batch of PCBs play-tested, got all the footswitches abd DC jacks installed, and soldered all the footswitch boards to the main boards. We're done for the night, but tomorrow I will start finishing up builds and am hoping to get the whole batch done over the weekend and shipped by Monday.

Also I decided to try buying pre-cut, pre-stripped ribbon cable to go between boards, and not only does is look super clean, it saves soooooo much time.
