You can get a Current Doubler cable for the Ciokolate, plugs into 2 ports and combines the current, make sure its the Current Doubler and not the Voltage Doubler.

FWIW I use the Cioks SOL on my mini board and don't have to do this which I believe each power output is 660 mA; the one 600 mA should work in this instance, but if you have another pedal that sucks up a lot of power and would prefer these current doublers work great, I've had two in the past for my HX Stomp and a Shift Line Olympic

Those two pedals, plus the Neptunium, are what I'm going to be doing a shootout with over the weekend. In my head right now the Neptunium stays, and one of the other two will get the ax, but I'm not sure how it will play out yet...

I ordered pickups from Lollar three weeks ago that got delivered Tuesday; but were supposed to be delivered to me last Tuesday. The pickups were literally at the main hub in my area and then sent 3 hours north; took a whole week to turn it around and get back to me, plus USPS had Monday off.

Noob question but it's early, I'm just starting my coffee and I've had a difficult week - I bought a power supply with my Neptunium, but as I strategize how to cut down on power cables I'm wondering if it's okay to use with a OneSpot + daisy chain extender? Also trying to figure out which port would be best off my Cioks Ciokolate.

The Onespot is made for daisy chaining and can deliver 1700mA so there is no problem using it, as long as the rest of the pedals don't use more then 1000mA.
Cioks Ciokolate can deliver 9v or 12v at up to 600mA on ports 12 or 13, but only on one at a time, make sure you do not set it for 15V as that could damage the tube.

The SOL and DC series are the new models. Ciokolate doesn't have as much current for each output. So would need to use 2 of the 400mA ports. Looks like it does have a 600mA port so could use that one without the doubler.

Thanks. So, just to clarify what's happening - to get it clear in my head: The pedal demands more current than the power supply can provide. The supply then goes 'f -you' and shuts the supply off for a small period of time. It then repeats this a few times - hence the flashes - over which the tube has warmed up enough to demand less - and so the supply is maintained? Watching the supply - which is under the board - the line's green LED is flashing in line with the pedal. Which you would expect.

I removed USPS Express shipping as an option because the last time I sent an express package (supposed to be guaranteed delivery in 1-2 days) it sat in Chicago for 8 days. USPS has been wonky lately though, I've had a couple shipments to Chicago (literally 40 miles away) take 10-12 days.

Hi - I ran a multimeter in series with a standard 9V wall-wart from Source Audio, rated at "400mA" and a cold Neptunium hit 630mA when initially connected - then dropped to a steady 380mA a couple of seconds later. So it's not a fault with my 500mA Zeus Jnr as such - it's just that it appears to have a very strict 500mA limiter built into it.

Currently, the pedal takes about 5 seconds to stabilize while the supply switches on and off about once a second. Once it's stable - it stays stable and works perfectly.

But with this quick recycling, is there a risk of premature wear/damage to the pedal circuit, the tube, or the power supply? If there is, I'll look to upgrade the supply to something like a Cioks in the longer term.

I had to say hi. I mentioned that I follow some of his activity of TB and he made sure to point out his board. I’m assuming that’s the Single Slice based on the knobs and jacks, since it’s a little hard to tell with the lighting.

I enjoyed the show. Plenty of energy and solid bass sounds. Keep doing what you do Mike!

It's easy to get carried away with longer, overcomplicated chains....thinking they sound great in the moment.....but upon rewinding and directly comparing with only 1 or 2 FX realizing that less is usually better IMHO.

If anything I would say there is a potential risk of damage to the power supply, but frankly the auto-shutdown is put in there to reduce the risk of damage to the supply, so it still isn't critical. I'm not really worried about the pedal, it should be fine.

If you're looking for a reason to upgrade to a Cioks it's always something I would recommend. I'm not affiliated (unfortunately) but I have a Cioks supply on both my pedalboards and have also talked the guitarist in my band to switching to a DC7. Do you absolutely need to do it in order to make the pedal work? No, not really. But it is a great supply.

Finally was able to snag one after missing all the previous batches, now the waiting game begins, can’t wait to try it and compare it to the finally v3 just for fun of course. I’m keeping both for sure and switching between them in my nano board.

Gave mine its maiden voyage last Saturday and it did very well. I was impressed. Chose to activate the high-pass filter just to see how it translated. In a trio mix of bass, drums and electric guitar, it really cleaned things up nicely. The low end isn't as huge granted, but it gave more room to the drums and the three instruments as a whole. Now I just have to mentally get past the concept of "reducing low end..." No, no, no!!!
